You aint doing 160mph on this bike, that aint this ride. It really is just a nice fun alternative to the new Ninja that is impossible to get. (yeah I know 250 vs 125) Still there are very few small displacement sport bikes out there that are fun and road legal. |

Do they have to be "used" to get them into the states? They would be a cool little commuter bike for sure. I'm sure you wont have these long at all. PM sent |

Any idea if the warranty will be honored at a US Honda dealer? What country are these bikes assembled in? I know it isn't Japan and I heard it was either Taiwan or Thailand. Any idea? And my hat is off to whoever decided to take on this herculean effort at your store. Don't worry, I won't ask you who owns Max-RPM, we've been down that road already ![]() bump it up |

And keep one probably as a demo race sl*t As far as what a local dealer will or wont touch on that bike remains to be seen as we are the first ones to bring them to the States. I know we will be able to order any parts you cant get locally. The Ninja 08-09 250 is impossible to get USED. Which is our market. Yes we could buy one new, but whats the point of that? |

| Zone Head Joined: Feb 2007 From: Seattle I Ride: All kinds | Stop asking questions with the intent/hope of receiving specific answers. This is not that type of thread... ...but if I had to guess (and please OP correct me if I'm wrong) these vehicles were imported to North America by Honda Canada for the purpose of being sold in Canadian Honda dealers for legal/certified street use in Canada. The powers that be behind the scenes at Max-RPM (we are to assume) have clearly devised some surefire method for obtaining a WA State title and registration for said motorcycles. Are they legal? Are they certified? Those are very good questions and ones I'm sure any potential buyer will want specific answers for. One would almost have to ask... "What exactly does "legal" or "certified" mean anyway? To me, "legal" means that I could buy one of these from the OP and let him/them register it for me. After that, with reg in hand, I could potentially get pulled over by one of WA State's finest revenue collectors for going 26.5 in a 25. After a lengthy bike/VIN/regsitration inspection by said officer/collections agent, he would hand me the registration and my freshly acquired citation however he would not impound my bike. So hey thats legal in my book. As to whether or not someone from the NHTSA agrees with me, or the title clerk in another state who scratches their head when I ask to transfer the title to that state, well, we can cross those bridges should we ever be so lucky as to get there. "Certified"? That is another great query. In my mind, "certified" means there is some sort of decal or placard affixed to the machine somewhere in plain view proclaiming the legality or road "usability" of said machine on Federal public roads/streets. Every vehicle sold for street use in the good 'ol U S of effing A has a decal that says something to that effect. My guess would be that of the 40 to 50 of these bikes being imported by Max-RPM (OMG that is a huge number!) none of them will have that "certification" decal. As long as you have a legit plate/title though, who cares? Or maybe you meant something else entirely by "certified" in which case sorry to waste your time! In any event my hat is off to Max-RPM. Every shop that I have ever known to make a go of it at this level (40 - 50 units... WOW!) with grey-market machines sold for street use in the US made it their sort of "unofficial" service. The paperwork for each unit must be mind-boggling, especially considering all the extra steps that must be taken to obtain legitimate WA State street status. I have never seen any other shop publically advertise machines like that for sale, much less 40 of the crazy things. Since this very thread exists, we can only assume that someone did their homework on this deal. So whatever tiny morsel of profit is yielded from selling 45 or so CBR125 models at $3995/per unit is certainly justified and fairly earned. |

The pink sheet will only reflect your speed infraction, not a vehicle title issue. 11 days, barring pirate attack, tsunami, earthquake, swine flu epidemic, global meteroic catastrophy or nuclear pre emptive launch. |

I was always under the impression the cbr125 was a two stroke. Knowing it's a 10hp four stroke kinda takes the wind out from underneath my sails on it. Best of luck. If nothing else, you've brought in a sub-$10k honda sportbike, something Honda US couldn't do. | |

Apparently there are some tricky rules to when you can get nailed on that one. .... I still dont think it should be able to be enforced near Tracyton elementary.... its only been closed for a year... and it was on a Sunday to boot. Luckily the judge agreed with me. What a fun way to start off April. |
