I want!! But not ready for another bike yet.. Waiting until end of season or a little later. Besides I'm not ready for a busa really yet. Need some more saddle time, but this could sit in my garage..

How reliable are the 00's? Any known issues?

No different than my 01 and it was very reliable. Over 20k miles with just normal maintenance.

No offense but just 20k miles wouldn't define reliable in my book. Anyone have any bigger numbers?

Left side as you are sitting on the bike, ie the CLUTCH side of the bike, or port for y'all nautical orientated. The Busa is a big motor that in day to day use doesnt get tired, you just dont ring them out like they were made to do. Keep up on your oil and your periodic maintence and it should suit you for years. I am sure there is a Hayabusa forum that can attest to high racking mileage counts. All of ours have been 10k or under.

Its a nice ride, it wont last long. We are open tomorrow. Closed SATURDAY, SUNDAY & MONDAY. Happy Fourth of July.

Log onto hayabusa.org or just search it. Many members with double, triple, and even more than that. The hayabusa is a beefy, powerful, reliable bike that doesn't require more than normal maintenance.

I think what the other guy is saying is that you say it was damaged on the clutch side of the bike, and that the damage is shown in the picture, but the picture is of the brake side. Either that or I have had too much homebrew.

Centennial + Cascade + American 2 Row = omg

I've been told that many busas are running over 60K for that time with no motor tear down or anything. Just standard maintenace and not raping the crap out of them.

Similar design in the CBR1100XX Blackbird, big powerful motor that rarely sees over 5K rpms during day to day driving. I just turned 45K on mine and it still runs very strong, super reliable, and scary fast if you want it to be. Or just putt to the store in 3rd gear doing 40mph at like 2800 rpm!

Dave what kind of gas mileage do you get on your blackbird?
