Priced for quick sale...Bike has just under 18k miles, and needs a new back tire. Amazing machine with a very loud MIG exhaust(I have the stock exhaust as well.) Sergeant seat zero gravity tinted windshield flush mount blinkers and stage one jet kit. Oil changed every 2500 miles, and only premium gas. I will let it go for $3,000 to a pnwrider. I love this bike and if there were any way I could keep it, I absolutely would. It will be missed for sure. I also have a leather joe rocket jacket and HJC R1 helmet and 1st gear gloves, that we can make a deal on if you want em. http://spokane.craigslist.org/mcy/1432414138.html |

Usually if someone is looking for a certain price, they have a little play room up or down... this would be an AWESOME upgrade from nothing the price is perfect and the relaibility is priceless ![]() |

| WMRRA Qualifier Joined: Jul 2009 From: Corvallis, OR I Ride: 08 Hypervibrator | Ooh, I want a sport-tourer and this is one of the bikes on my list. Argh, if only I had $2200! Hmmm, I have some of those 3.99% checks from Chase credit... You're all the way over in Spokane...ack, ooh, I need a road trip. Must resist...temptation... ![]() PS - you consider a partial trade for an 84 VW Scirocco that runs like a top and needs only a heater core? 5 speed, front wheel drive (sorry no 4WD for ya). Comes w/CD player & mini-sub woofer. I've owned it since 1997. Here are some pix: http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~gar...scirocco-1.jpg http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~gar...scirocco-2.jpg http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~gar...scirocco-6.jpg http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~gar...scirocco-5.jpg http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~gar...priorities.jpg Last edited by ducatichick; 11-09-2009 at 09:25 AM.. | WMRRA Qualifier Joined: Jul 2009 From: Corvallis, OR I Ride: 08 Hypervibrator | ![]() Sorry the 916 is long gone! But the VW is a cheap & dependable little rig if you're looking for cheap transportation, but if you're in need of 4wd of course this is not the machine for you. I'd give you $1800 plus the Scirocco if you're interested. Meanwhile, I'll be looking for $2200, seriously. Do you know the seat height? I've only sat on one Superchicken and it seemed OK for my shortness (5'4"). Has anyone taken one of these on the track? |

| Training Wheels Joined: Oct 2008 From: Spokane, WA I Ride: Honda VTR1000F Supa Hawk | he's right, these mig cans are outrageously sweet. this is truly one of the loudest bikes where i live... girlfriend can hear me coming from a mile away, and you make gsxr riders feel like they're on scooters when you pull up next to em... no offense gsxr riders you're bikes just aren't as loud as this one. As far as the seat height, i honestly don't know, I'm 6'2" so haven't had any problem with it. It might be a one footed stop scenario for ya... Its not lowered at all and the sergeant is very similar to the stock seat as far as size goes...I might consider your offer of $1800 and the VW, kinda wanna know a little more about the car, clean title? mileage? I've got a buyer for the cans if you want the bike with the stock ones. I actually have two sets of stock exhaust, one set is hogged out, and sound kinda cool...Last edited by nwrdr3; 11-10-2009 at 01:19 AM.. |

![]() The right front fender is newer than the rest of the body - was that way when I got it. I think it was hit because that side of the car sits slightly higher (you only notice this when setting the camber during alignment). It handles well and there does not appear to be any evidence other than the fender being more shiny than the rest of the car. The paint is ugly but seems to be sticking to the car. The Scirocco eats shopping carts if it gets run into ![]() Right now the exhaust seems to be developing a slight leak. I just put a new brake master cylinder on because that blew over the summer. I bench-bled the master cylinder but have not bled the brakes at the wheels which should be done. Needs an oil change. Needs a heater core, if you want heat or defrost. The heater core has been leaking (sometimes steam comes out of the vents, but no liquid) - I think it's leaked the entire time I've owned it, I just never bothered to fix it since I didn't need really defrost down south. I don't know how many miles are on it - odometer stopped working a few years ago. Probably on the order of 180-200k mi. It doesn't burn oil even when it's cold. It does leak some oil here and there, thanks to taking it to a mechanic other than myself. In 2002 I had the axle shaft bearings replaced along with the clutch. I haven't put many miles on the car since about 2005, mostly because it doesn't have power steering and I have neck issues that are aggravated by wrenching the steering wheel around. The car drives straight down the road when you let go of the steering wheel. The fuel pump relay blew in 1998 or so - I replaced it with a toggle switch. When I got my first post-graduate-degree job, I bought a new fuel pump relay (see, I really know how to splurge). A year or 2 later the relay blew again so I put the switch back in. Think of it as an anti-theft device. The 5 speed trannie is like the GTI - close ratio, great for bopping around town and country roads but kinda sucks on the highway. Motor is super-strong. It's 1.8L overhead cam (8 valve). It's not as fast as today's 4-bangers but WTF, it's fun to drive. Gets about 20-25 mpg. Has a 10 gallon gas tank. Fuel gauge works fine but when it gets in the red, you'd better get to the nearest gas pump! Michelin MXV tires have tread on them but they are old so you'd want to replace them eventually (no dry rot visible). Rims are 13" so tires are CHEAP! The Scirocco takes most of the same parts as the Rabbit so they are cheap and plentiful at your local NAPA. That new brake master cylinder was $50 (not rebuilt). I love this car, as you may have noticed by now. I will be sad to see it go but my spine has had it. I'd probably keep it though if I could sell my 2005 MR2 Spyder (about $16k, know anyone looking?). At least I can still ride! Last edited by ducatichick; 11-10-2009 at 09:00 AM.. Reason: left/right confusion, duh | |
