| Training Wheels Joined: Aug 2008 From: Spokane, WA I Ride: gixxer 600 | 1992 gsx-r 600 I have a 92 gixxer 600 with ~5k original mi. Black (w/ blue flake) w/ blue/purple/pink graphics - 90's colors! Near mint, all original barring tank protector (suzuki cf), rear spools (vortex), and blue/purple headlites/parking lite. Still has all the original warning & spec stickers. Have spent a lot of time and money replacing/cleaning/polishing, as it sat from 92 - 07 or so. Extensive service history at House of Cycles, Beaudry's & KDR. Known issues: tires suck (not completely worn out, but are checked and a lil' slippery - i'd replace them (but powder coat rims 1st, as there are a few small blemishes on them); front wheel bearing is going out; petcock likes to remain on 'reserve' - don't ask. I always run Shell gas, Repsol oil. Brakes are good, and I've got extra pads. New steering head bearing. Lots of carb/fuel line/valve work. New Interstate batt. Very unique bike that gets a lot of attention - it should go into a collection - it's that nice. Never abused and hardly used. This bike is ready to go, and must go! Many of you have seen her - if you have, please vouch for her & spread the word. I have moved, and she's just sitting around (again). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Price: 2700. Signals are removed, but I still have the originals; I was going to put clear flush-mounts up front, and a clear integrated rear. I have a lot of aftermarket sources too, if anyone is interested (from windscreen to exhaust). |

You do realize it's kind of important right? Or maybe just first offr gets it? |

| Training Wheels Joined: Aug 2008 From: Spokane, WA I Ride: gixxer 600 | To answer those whom have posted: 1 - the price is listed, but to state it again, it is 3k. (obo). 2 - no, the tank has not been re-lined; peering into it, it looks just as clean as the rest of the bike. no evidence of corrosion (i'm assuming that that is what you are concerned about). 3 - thanks for the props. it really is one of the finer examples of old school. one would be hard pressed to finnd one of this caliber in this country. 4 - in case it matters to anyone, this thing is also oil and air cooled... 5 - i should also note that she may be old and heavy, but she holds her own... she's also waaaay more comfortable than a late model (especially when riding 2-up). offers a lot of protection from the wind as well. 6 - this is the 1st yr of the gixxer 6. |

Just curious- with 5k original miles, how on earth did it need steering head bearings and a front wheel bearing? Anything weird happen? |

| Training Wheels Joined: Aug 2008 From: Spokane, WA I Ride: gixxer 600 | I wouldn't count turn signals as necessary, but all I did was unbolt (single bolt/bracket) them and clip the wires. Wires are just dangling inside fairing, waiting to be spliced back together. Probably a 20 min job if you are meticulous. I don't know if the tabs are still valid - I'll have to get back to you on that. Someone else was wanting to ride it to Portland, and the only flag that came to mind was the front wheel bearing; I cannot predict how long it's going to last, but it just became noticeable as I parked her last year. I'm going to have my garage keeper take her out and give me his take on it. She's been stored in a heated garage and exercised reguarly. She's ready to go. Fires right up and runs just as well as the FZ1 sitting beside her. |
