Actually Fred, I spent a year living in Laramie, and I loved heading up to Medicine Bow. It kinda reminded me of the Cascades. Check out Hwy 130 outside Centennial. Barber Lake Road is fun too.

BTW I hated everything else in Wyoming.

The western edge, particularly the northwestern corner, of Wyoming has some of the best roads on the planet for a ride.
But don't move there if you like people, or paved roads!

And I can believe NJ is #1. Ever driven on the Garden State Parkway?

..... And this bullshit is EXACTLY why I head to BC with my bike and my money every summer when I'm on vacation. I got sick and MF'in tired of dealing with some cock holster sitting out in the middle of MF'in nooooowhere, clocking tumbleweeds (always in the name of "safety", of course) while waiting for me to come rolling near their hillbilly, back water, shthole at 70 mph.

"Derrrrrr, whutdahellizat Rosco?? Looks like munayyy ta me!! WOOWOOWOOWOO! Alrighty thar mista racer boay. Now, whur in tha hell d'ya think yer goin in such a damned hurry?" and the banjo music starts playing.

Ya see, if you get a speeding ticket in BC, you just pay it and forget it because it'll never hit your driving record in the states. But the best part?? THEY DON'T RUN SPEED TRAPS UP THERE ANYWAY! They've got some waaaay cool roads and destinations (Banff anyone?) and they all drive like they are allowed to accept personal responsibility for whatever circumstances they put themselves in. In other words, they treat you like adults and it's not a nanny state like WA.

It really is the promised land of sport bike riding and I've been going up there every summer for the past 5 or 6 years. Hell, I've even had a Canadian border crossing guard hand me a free map and point out some must-do roads before I went on my merry little way (the east side of Kootenay lake was pretty damned cool). I mean, could you ever see anyone in US law enforcement do that for someone on a sport bike?

Starting June 27th, my annual 5 wks of paid vacation starts. Guess where me an my lil Kawasaki will be?

Yeah, I once joked that Wyoming is the place where people who don't like people go to live. The Wyoming residents I was talking to agreed with a straight face.

Also, Laramie is the only town I've ever seen where there was an ANTI-gay pride day. People lining the street with signs proclaiming "Queers not here" and "Faggots Go Home." Also the town where the gay kid was raped (by "Straight" locals) then dragged behind a truck and tied to a fencepost.

Also knew a guy who told me every time he sees a white girl walking down the street with a black guy, "I just wanna go out there and beat the shit outta that Nigger." I asked him why, he said it's just sick.

Conservative to the point of ignorance. I really disliked Wyoming.

Lets just say I have a "friend" that spent 3 months In BC accumulated 2tickets in that time on the Trans alaskan Highway. He didnt pay any ofem. This was about 7 years ago.. They dont correspond with the US's DOT/DMV so yeah, F U CANADA... And they were all BS tickets 100kph in a 90kph IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE and a ticket for not having a red flag on the back of a ladder that was 5 feet out the back of his truck IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE, screw canada, esp Fort Nelson BC.... DOnt go up far north with US plates and expected to be treated well by the canadians, they hate americans, espescially the native canadians (indians)...

Yes, lots of cops on the Parkway and they will come up in the left lane at 80-100 mph to catch those sitting in the left lane or those speeding. The NJ troopers make the WA troopers look like saints just based on the way they talk to you.

And not only that but the restrictions are strict when it comes to driving a truck on the highway or making a left at a light in NJ (ever hear of our "jug handle" philosophy to making lefts?).

Surprised to see WA at #9 though. I didn't think it was that bad out here.

I'm much happier riding (fast) in Washington than NJ.

I like the way you think.

I did how ever have a Sheriff and sidekick in Oregon actually ask if we could possibly stay a night in OR vs heading home and showed us a very nice route on our map...... That was after my friend passed his unmarked car just before a tight twisty section. No awards though. I pulled over for my friend and showed the LEO my ID and he though we were honest enough He wasnt going to offer an award. (Long story short, He made it 2 miles through the entire twisty section before he saw the lights )
