New cage!
New to us anyway. My beautiful girfriend traded our 04 f150 for this 03 f350 dually. She has horses and we needed a bigger truck, just not sure we needed that big but you have love girls in trucks! 6.0l power stroke and 19.5" road truck wheels. We just need to fit a GN hitch.

Just did the same thing with my girl, but we traded our 06 Ram shortbed hemi (responsibility sucks..) for an 05 dodge 2500 4 door with the 6.1 cummins. I miss the other dodge but pulling a 10k lb slant load GN is so damn easy now....

Did the same thing last year, traded my 2002 F350 4wd in for an '04 3500 4wd dually 4door, absolutely love it.

I hadta be different.
I went for the gas V10.
I know, diesel's are more efficient, better torque, yadda, yadda...
They're also smelly, noisy (although the new ones are much quieter), expensive to service, and a very expensive option in a new truck.

Although I shoulda got a dually.

Cumins is ok too.

*achew* sorry i'm just allergic to fords...:-P

nice truck!!!

although personally, nothing beats a nice supercharged bigblock gas engine for towing. The powerband is just intoxicating...gas millage? not so much.

Understand completely! I kinda get that way around BMWs.

Thanks for the complements, I really think it's a sweet looking rig. I have never been that picky about trucks. I mean lets face it, it's not a bike but it is pretty cool

I have towed many trailers of many sizes all over the country and have never felt like having a gas engine over a turbo diesel. You must not tow much.

Drive a truck yet? Can you see over the wheel?

Stock diesels will kick the ass of every stock gas engine. Dollar for dollar same thing.

It isn't a shock to see Banks Sidewinder Dakota becoming the world's fastest pickup at 222mph. powered by a rebuilt 5.9L Cummins based I6 Turbo Diesel. producing 393hp and 600ft. lbs. of torque. all of this while still getting 21mpg.

Whats with the duallys? Do they tow better? I've never asked nor understood em. I'm just a kid so what do I know haha. Nice truck, my bro's got an 07 Duramax, I love driving it.. Makes my Lincoln Mark LT feel like a TURD.. Well the 5.4 Triton is a turd but still.. gotta love the diesels!

Not tow much...? they did buy a diesel. It's a 6.0L power stroke turbo diesel.

clinty poo: Whats with the duallys? Do they tow better? I've never asked nor understood em

the reason for the dually is for a greater capacity for payload and tow load.

duallys can haul a lot more and are MUCH more stable when towing.

edit: and nice trade btw, looks like you definitely got the better deal

I think that comment is aimed at Av.

And they're the BEST for large slide-in campers because of the added stability.

There is so much less "wiggle" and sway when really loaded than a 2 tire rear end.
My dually is awesome loaded or empty, yet loaded and pulling 26 thousand pounds (far above rating) it still gets 10mpg and never stops pulling like mad, I found myself saying repeatedly, "this thing rocks!" Yet on the icy roads of Alaska and Canada, 4wd made it possible to keep moving when everyone else was pulled over, still treating us to an amazingly impressive vehicle showing.

I will buy another, when this one is done for.

When it gets to that point, I'll pull over... and unload a horse! I put some miles on around town and down the freeway and F**ing hell this thing has power all over my gas f150

Is that thing lowered or is it a 2 wheel drive. And yes the 6.0 is an awesome motor. Just gotta make sure you do the scheduled maint and dont mod it or you will be blowing head gaskets. Ive had my 6.0 since new and love the truck.

And anyone who says a gas motor is better for pulling is a complete retard!! And obviuosly you have never towed with a diesel.

I'm not talking stock :D

but yes, I know overall turbo diesels are better, more tunable yada yada, I've just driven a supercharged gas motor a lot more so it's more fun in my mind. And absolutely filthy while not towing.

Supercharger on a gas engine still doesn't tow as good as a turbo diesel. Been there, done that.
