dirty girls?
sorry guys. not for you.

anyone here ride dirt? just curious to know! plus i really admire folk who can rip it up on the trails... it is a skill that i simply don't possess (yet?). i saw a few mention this in the check in thread!

me, i'm just starting, and would not mind putzing around and falling in puddles if anyone wants company + a good laugh.

do chime in!

Hi,

I've been riding in the dirt for years--sort of. I say sort of because I don't burn up fire roads or anything, I just cow-trail on a 1968 BSA 441 single. Old bike and old lady rider, and we take it pretty easy.

I really admire the people who get out there and kick dirt up in the air. I don't suppose there are any other women out there riding classic bikes in the dirt?

I am taking the dirt bike rider course this weekend with my son, so I will hopefully be riding dirt soon too.

PenPen, how do you like the xt? I was thinking about getting a dedicated dirt bike, but it would be cool to have a dual sport.

I have a CRF150 and a supermotard xr650L....I ride my 150 about everyday out in the field...i rode dirt before I rode street...an xr100...and imho its a good way to go to build skill confidence and balance.

I dont ride dirt as much as I should, since its converted to Supermoto for the summer..

Grew up riding dirt first then moved into street!!

you all know how much I love my crf150...rite? Its my one of the things that keeps me (somewhat) sane here...plus imho riding in dirt is an excellent way to improve ability on the street.

Club DG- let's do this!!!

Like badkitty and Lizi, I started out on dirt- a TTR to be exact, a 225, It was great for learning. I now ride a wr250f in the trails and dunes. I also ride KTM 400exc supermoto for the streets. I dont suggest getting a dual sport or pit bike for trails. but that's just me.
It's really fun getting away from the streets and getting to places only atv's can go!

Club DG I LIKE IT! We should get stickers made and put them on our dirt bikes. :-) Been looking on CL and am putting an ad up this weekend to sell my Ninja.

And I totally agree with Lizi that dirt riding makes you a better street rider. I actually started riding dirt bikes at the wee age of 5, a little honda fiddy. Rode dirt and enduros up until I was about 16 then nothing until about 4-5 years ago when I got my street bike.

OK, enough of my life story..I'm ready to play in the dirt again! WOOT!

new to dirt! sweet. i have a little kx 100 bc im short but i lovvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee riding in the dirt! best time to ride is in october... still kinda warm...kinda... yet you can get really muddy!! yay!

Tacoma Trail Riders has a poker run if anybody is interested. Its August 15th and 16th and its super fun! the short course is like 40 miles and the long/advance course is 60 miles? Ill have to check the details when i have the paperwork with me... maybe ill start a new post to see if we can get some girls out there! it would be fun!!

forgive me for somewhat threadjacking butt....
any of you chic riders coming out weekend after next should really try to bring their dirties, too! I got the track, jump and hillclimb all groomed up for the puddingwrestling party so it's in PERFECT shape for a little h00liganism!
