| Pit Crew ![]() Joined: Jun 2008 From: Portland Oregon I Ride: 01 Speed Triple/Suzuki RF900 95 | Sorry Can't Join you guys but it reminds me of an old trip of mine. Several years ago (when I had massive amounts of free time) it was like 100 degrees in Portland. I thought to myself "To the Coast"! I left work a little early and headed out there. When I got to the coast it was 55-60 and foggy (I mean really foggy!). I had to stop at some store in seaside to buy a vest to go under my jacket as I was freezing. Have Fun and Be Safe! |

I'm sure you'll find enough gas along the way. I'm thinking about joining up. Any more ideas on route or play it by ear? PS Jeff, you don't have to post up what kind of oil you use since your only riding to a BBQ. Last edited by jlburgess; 07-17-2009 at 06:52 PM.. |

Sorry I didn't go all the way to Tillamoook (via 53) with you but I told the wife I would take her out to dinner tonight. Famous Dave's Legendary Pit BBQ in Tualatin was very crowded but serves from an excellent menu. |

| Newbie Joined: Jul 2009 From: Pdx I Ride: Lil street fighter! | A Day of Firsts Well, in one exciting day I managed to squeeze in: my first group ride my first fall ![]() and now my first post on PNWR . It was totally my bad - same old story. I entered a corner too fast (after swearing to not override, of course), and the front tire hit gravel. I even thought for a second there before laying it down that I might be able to get back on to the pavement, and then ... ... well half of me made it back on to the pavement! Riding gear works - and works well. A little tear in my pants and a few minor scratches on my helmet. Why would anybody ride without this stuff?!?! I am fine, the bike is fine, and the group I went out with was fantastic! This is a great community here... Thank you to ccrider, buzzy, everyone for stopping, making sure I was okay, and tending to the bike. And, a big thank you to Jeff & Ivan for their gracious escort back home, too. The bike was not beautiful to begin with (as it's my beginner's bike), but after reattaching my turn signal, and with the addition of some duck tape it's good as new-to-me! Thumbs up to Jeff on the body work - I swear my left mirror is less buzzy than it was before. Now I can see Buzzy more clearly on the next group ride. ![]() And, oh yes, there will be the next ride. This was the best experience I could imagine in this situation, thanks again gang. Man... I'm officially hooked on this riding thing. I think I figured out the photo upload. What you can't see is the rocks and gravel I scooped out of the inside of the fairings! |

And what an incredible group of people! Thanks to all & I'm looking forward to riding with you again. Thanks to Ivan & Daryl & Jeff for leading us -this was a most unforgettable day, on many levels! Btw- if you are riding with Jeff & happen to need ducktape....it will appear! Gotta love that! Last edited by ccrider; 07-18-2009 at 10:19 PM.. |

| Training Wheels Joined: Apr 2008 From: Hillsboro I Ride: with good chi | SuziHB, I'm so happy to see you in good spirits and relatively unscathed. It could have been worse, but practice with some instruction will cure that. Thanks to Ivan, ccrider and Jeff. The balance of the ride was nice, 53 was fun with a stop in Manzanita for ocean viewing. |
