I Ride: faster than Djoplin riding 1-up
MCA's last street ride: come on out! Sunday, 7-19
BRING YOUR CAMERAS PEOPLE!

(I was planning on joining mfrank's "Epic Ride," but unfortunately I'd rather not spend my last [street] motorcycle miles chewing up my tires and plastics way out in Fossil.)

Unless you've been living under a rock, you prob. have heard that I'll be giving up this incredible sport to "git sum education"
This Sunday, 7-19 will be my last street ride, as I've got a trackday on Mon 7-20, then the bike will be up on the interwebz for sale.

I would love to put in some miles with all of the great friends that I have met here within the PNW family; those who have been so supportive and friendly to me, even way back when I was just a wee little squid on a Bandito 1200s....

So.....what more are you waiting for??? LET'S RIDE!

Meet: 76 Gas station in CARSON, WA
Exactly 2 miles after you turn off of HWY 14, the gas station will be on your L. Impossible to miss, only gas station in town!

Recommended route there.

Time: 11:30, depart at high noon sharp.

Pace: speed limit in the straights, fun in the twisties : )

Destination: I would love to do the complete climb all the way up to the top of Windy Ridge, and get a great photo or two with my friends up there to remember both my bike and PNW by....Plan on a solid 200 mi. ride from Carson (including route back to PDX), with all the twisties that you can shake a stick at
This ride will end in Battle Ground, with the WA riders going their separate ways, and the OR riders slabbing I-5/205 back into PDX.

Food: Have an early lunch, as we'll be stopping either in Cougar or Yacolt for dinner (+/- 4:30pm).

Why meet in WA?: My plan is to simply pack as many miles into my last day as possible. I will be on the road at 7am with 2 close friends, for a ride, culminating in Carson.

Hope to see some of you out there, and "yes" there may be some full HD "follow" laps filmed to give you an idea of just how slow you really are, Kevin....

PLEASE POST UP IF YOU PLAN ON COMING! : )

always, michael

After we pass the part of 99 that is typically blocked off to Windy Ridge, the pace will be at or below the speed limit. <<< (coming from me, you know that's saying something!!) This is a section of road to simply enjoy the scenery and beautiful landscape, and to keep a level head on your shoulders....

Remember, it's all about reaching the top and enjoying the company of some great riding friends : )

Oh this ride is tempting, I like most riders around here haven't been to Windy Ridge due to the road being S@#$ last year, I need to plan this one well. I have a BBQ at 3 in PDX to get to, Hmmmm

A BBQ with friends or watching MCA (Sparky) drag knees through the great NW for the last time in a while

Might be there in Carson we will see

Been wanting to get up to Windy Ridge, sounds like a hoot.
I'm in!
By the way, The Wind River Inn, about a mile south of the 76 in Carson makes a mean biscuits n gravy. I'll be there around 1030 for a late breakfast.

Hmm, I'm always up for trying out new breakfast places. Though I'm thinking I might see if I can force myself up early and make a Klickitat loop with breakfast in Glenwood prior to this loop. Dunno if I'll be able to leave my house at 7am though. So if I don't end up doing that I'll make it to this Wind River Inn place for a little pre ride breakfast.

Going to be living on campus at ASU in Tempe. Get in touch with me when you're down there!! We'll have our own little mini bike-less bike night, and laugh at all the lidless squids in AZ!!
Selling b/c school = $$. I = no money. Bike = $$.

We're going to discuss this in the riders meeting. The biggest question we'll have to address is: who has the shortest range, and how short is that range...
From there, we'll decided whether to gas up in Cougar or Randle before doing Windy Ridge, or whether everyone can make it w/o either of those detours.
130mi. INCLUDING reserve, is doable for just about any bike that comes to mind with a 4.0 gal. tank or bigger...

I'm feeling things in the road I never noticed before! Still not sure that is 100% good tho! (kinda scary sometimes).

Dave set it up before I rolled out and I got no complaints yet! Looking forward to riding some familiar roads and seeing the difference... TOMORROW! (wait...sorry - TODAY!)

That's a 1 hour ride, at legal speeds, so why the 2.5 hour allotment?
