I'm sure anyone thats been in there knew who Chris is (bigger guy with a goatee). So i urge all of you DO NOT SHOP AT PRO CALIBER!!!!! Let these fools know that we won't tolerate ex-wal-mart employees for sales, parts and service. Also a good plan was mentioned by eezz, go in to the parts counter and ask for chris, if they say he isn't there or whatever just turn around and walk out saying hes the only one you'll deal with. ![]() |

This will let them know for sure, Chris was the reason you were coming in and spending your money there. |

"sweep." | I don't shop there often, either, as I have no need (work in a shop), but I will say that Wayne (Parts Mgr.) is a great guy, personally, and have known him for some time, as he previously was a Rep for Tucker/Rocky and did a great job for us (shops/dealers) as a Rep. I didn't know Tarik was there, but think very highly of him, as well, and would not hesitate to go to him if the need arose... Just thought I'd show support for the two guys there I can DEFINITELY vouch for. Nice guys and very competent guys. I don't know what prompted his being "let go", but as a shop-monkey myself, I can tell you that the economy really sucks for us in the M/C industry right now... THAT might have been a factor here... Sorry that Chris was 'let go', however. I think I met him once at the First Friday events they held and he was (is) a nice guy. |

Also a lot of shops are cutting people (hard times). Beaverton Honda is a big one. They are getting rid of more people and are making pay cuts. If you wanna help support a local business and know you are getting great service go to Cardenasmotorsports in Tigard.

The last 3 times I went there to pick up something I ordered from them I had to wait at LEAST 20 mins. for someone to get it for me. Even after going to the cash register to ask them to get it for me. But here's the part that makes me mad. While I wait in line at the parts counter, for the 1 guy that's actually working, I can hear 3 or 4 employees behind the wall bullshiting and laughing! |

They had an 08 GSXR 600 with about $2K in accessories including Slip on. Wasn't color I was looking for but I figured with some the bling, would make an offer. Some dork thought I was kidding when I offered $9K. It was an 08 and they were on closeout in Salem for 7100. Figured they would take a hit a $100 hit on accessories. Nope. Lucky for me. Ended up with an 08 GSXR 1K for less and lovin it more! Procaliber....Won't ever go there! |

| Pit Crew Joined: Apr 2009 From: Portland, OR I Ride: 2007 KTM Super Duke | I tried to go there recently. I called and asked for directions, and I got this: Girl says "Hold on..." I get transferred to voicemail (sales dept). I call back, explain to the girl that I got transferred to voicemail, and I simply want directions. She transfers me again to some sales guy (bikes sales?). Guy picks up, I ask for directions, and he asks me if I've "been working with someone". I explain that I'm just wanting directions. He asks me what I'm looking for (to buy). I respond "I'm looking for gear" for the girl. He kinda shrugs me off, tells me approximately where the shop is, but can't seem to give me directions from I-5 SB. I get off the freeway where I think I'm supposed to go based off his "off 4th plain" response, and I realize I'm 100+ blocks away with 30 minutes to go (because he didn't tell me to take 205, so I'm coming from I-5. I decide to skip it, which worked out well because I got a nice Dainese jacket used off the classifieds for $150. Based on that experience, I'd probably never bother to go there. |

I was just there last Friday, bought those bitchin handlebar tie-down straps for the FJR. Met a really helpful guy at the parts counter and when I asked him about the warranty for the straps, he said if they break bring them back to him and he’ll make it right. A mans word is as good as the man and this fellow seemed honest. Too bad for your friend and your loyalty for him is quite commendable, but the fellow that I worked with seemed just as commendable as you say your friends is. I have been to the shop a number of time and have been treated quite fairly. So stick your tired ass crying and support you friend some place else and do what ever you can do for him and not penalize the others. |

They call me back to let me know it will be $200 to remove the bearings. fuck you. then you go to the counter, no customers around, a bunch of fatfucks and idiots behind the counter, none of them acknowledge the customer standing in front of them. not to mention the prices on the bikes. ridiculous. take a look at half there shitty bikes outside, most have been crashed, obvious signs of a crash on most of the bikes. and there trying to sell them like there new bikes. no disrespect to those that do there jobs at pro cal, but for the most part, thats one of the shittiest places of any kind of business. i mean i walked in there asking for a engine gasket for a 2006 r6 and the guy at the parts counter asks me, how many cylinders is your bike? really, your working the parts counter and dont know jackshit. |

A while ago when I was looking at a Superduke I went in there and they had a leftover '07 sitting their w/ a msrp tag on it. I asked what they wanted for it and one of sales mgr's said 'this is what we want for it' while pointing at the tag. I said 'that's why it's still here' and walked out. A prior time about a year and a half ago they quoted me a $7K trade in value for my old Monster S4Rs... |

| Newbie Joined: Sep 2009 From: Vancouver, Wa I Ride: 2008 Suzuki GSXR 1000 | Sorry I am new to Pacific Northwest riders. I have been on sportbikes.ws for a long time. Thanks for all the support, I really appreciate it. I know a few of you on here. If anyone wants to read what happened here it is. So people keep asking what the hell happened. So here is the short of it. ProCaliber said "it was not personal, that it was a business decision and they had to let me go". They told me "that they were down to what they considerd assets to the company, and that they had to get rid of the lesser of the assets". I guess that 20 - 25 year old kids that know nothing about the industry are more of an asset than someone who has been with the company for 9 years and has 15 years worth of knowedge in the motorcycle industry. I believe the truth is I was one of the, if not the highest paid parts person there and they are trying to cut payroll. I think they made a huge mistake. They don't realize how many people I know in this industry and how big of a following I have. I would never tell someone not to go in there to buy something, but I have had over 100 people tell me that they told everyone they know not to, and that they would not step foot through that door since I'm gone. It has made me feel really good to know that my customers are so loyal. I will let everyone know where I end up if I land back in the motorcycle industry. Thanks again to everyone for all the support. I really appreciate it! |

He was told to continue to blead his information to his subordinates. Knowing what was going to happen must have been brutal. But they wound up sacking him. Oh yes they are Fair Trade, show lots of pictures of smiling 3rd world poster children, push 3rd world music, sell ETHOS water - Ethical Water - every purchase sends money and water to deserving smiling 3rd world children and on and on. I wonder if my friend is smiling? Replcaed by cheeper, younger labor. Likely they won't show his picture at SBKS. I find it all the time, they want me to go tell my fellow employees ''likely smiling 3rd world engineers here to take my job'' how I do my work, what I do, Share the information!!! LOL NFW baby, you want to learn, go throught the schhooooll of hard knocks like I had to! Never, repeat, never give your work edge to someone else lest you get a Sword stuck in your back and the, " Nothing personal, we just had to make a business decision on who...." Sorry about your loss of work. This is going on all over the place. go gettem! pv2

| Endorsed Joined: Mar 2009 From: Lebanon, Oregon I Ride: 2002 YZF R1 | It sucks that your buddy got fired, but I don't see why you would try and make Pro-Caliber suffer. Maybe in this economy, they are having trouble making money just like everyone else. I mean shit, the owner got into business for one reason to make money. Paying your friend his salary was hurting his business, so he was fired. Put yourself in the owners shoes, not only does he have to pay everyone that works there, he has to pay for the building, the electric, the water, the parts, and still try and come out with a little for himself at the end of the month. Maybe he should tell his kids that they don't deserve to go to college, or get new toys/cloths this month because your friend needs a job too. Don't be bitter, just move on. |

Being a long time loyal employee should account for something but it seems it all to often does not. I'm out of work 5 months now after 24 years at the same company,it's a small business but I had been there the longest, they kept 4 guys out of 15 at one time all paid less than I and none there near as long. It stinks! you give a company a big chunk of your life, work your way up and expect job security but NADA. I'm early 50's in age and guys like me are the hardest hit by unemployment just for this reason. Now we are also the hardest to re employ as well, employers prefer younger guys they can mold and who have more years left to give so we get pushed aside. Best of luck to Chris,I hope your chances are better than mine and I hope Hanna gets a big load of bad karma.
