| Endorsed Joined: Aug 2008 From: Clackamas, OR I Ride: 1998 VTR 996, 1983 GL 1100 | Moto tire repair? Patched many a tube over the years. Picked up 1/2 a staple in my tubless tire the other day. Is it OK to plug it like an automotive tire or are patches best? |

The correct way to do the patch is a radial patch (inside patch) if the tire is really new or low mileage & allot left I would do it but a rear only. If it's worn more than 30% or so I'd just buy a new/new-used tire. just my 2 cents |

Upon locating the leak in the rear tire, I reamed it out and stuffed a plug in it with some glue. In hind sight I started to think about the differences between auto and moto tire construction. Anyway, it held up fine for 750 miles this weekend. Next time, I'll have it patched. ![]() |
