Eagle Point man dies in motorcycle crash

An Eagle Point man died about 2:20 p.m. Friday after his motorcycle crashed on U.S.199 about 16 miles from Grants Pass, the Oregon State Police reported.

Harrel Eugene Neal, 51, was driving a 2005 Honda motorcycle south when it went onto the shoulder and struck a guardrail. He was thrown off, said Sgt. Mark A. Byrd, a state police spokesman.

An ambulance crew happened to be in the area and reached the wreck within minutes. But Neal, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene.

The Oregon Department of Transportation and Josephine County Sheriff’s Office assisted. The crash remains under investigation.

Damn this is what 5 in the last week or so. This has been a pretty bad season. RIP

F* me man!!!
Earlier it was a 61 yr old guy on a Duc, now this 51 yr old - both out cruising in their own. Both on some of the most beautiful roads & areas in OR. Man, that is not how I envision my retirement years to look like, taking my last breaths at the side of the road.
