That's because sadly Ulfur, stereotypes have a way of playing themselves out. That's just how it is. If it's not some dill hole in a tuner, it's a dill hole in a BMW.

and Dox, next time you need to be the dill hole...just blow the dbl yellow on the pass for pete's sake.

What I find ironic is that we Americans like to believe in daring-do, living on the edge, pushing boundaries, blazing trails, being masters of our own fate. And, yet, when I pass some salary man sucking fumes in his steelbox, he goes berzerk because I'm living dangerously on my two wheels.

I guess this ground was covered in the iconic film Easy Rider.

George Hanson: You know, this used to be a helluva good country. I can't understand what's gone wrong with it.

Billy: Man, everybody got chicken, that's what happened. Hey, we can't even get into like, a second-rate hotel, I mean, a second-rate motel, you dig? They think we're gonna cut their throat or somethin'. They're scared, man.

George Hanson: They're not scared of you. They're scared of what you represent to 'em.

Billy: Hey, man. All we represent to them, man, is somebody who needs a haircut.

George Hanson: Oh, no. What you represent to them is freedom.

Billy: What the hell is wrong with freedom? That's what it's all about.

George Hanson: Oh, yeah, that's right. That's what's it's all about, all right. But talkin' about it and bein' it, that's two different things. I mean, it's real hard to be free when you are bought and sold in the marketplace. Of course, don't ever tell anybody that they're not free, 'cause then they're gonna get real busy killin' and maimin' to prove to you that they are. Oh, yeah, they're gonna talk to you, and talk to you, and talk to you about individual freedom. But they see a free individual, it's gonna scare 'em.

Billy: Well, it don't make 'em runnin' scared.

George Hanson: No, it makes 'em dangerous. Buh, neh! Neh! Neh! Neh! Swamp!

Good thing it was a BMW and not a Bronco.

I think I can do you one better. Just got back from a great ride to Mt. Rainer, Yakima Canyon, etc. I'm in a awesome mood and just about home when I stop at a light. The road is under construction so rather than two lanes as usual, there's only one. Lots of cars make a right at this intersection, so I stop in the far left of the lane so cars can get by me to make the turn. Some old bitch with a yap dog in a Mercedes lays on the horn and starts flipping out wanting me to either move into oncoming traffic or blow through the red light so she can put more blue hair dye in. Getting off the bike did cross my mind as did smashing out her window, but no...I just sat there and didn't do shit.

Not enough brain cells to figure it out. The xformation is complete, the owner is now a clone of the dog.

I stopped trying to please these assholes (nothing you will do will change their perception, so i STRIVE to live up to it and fullfill their wildest fantasies), instead i just give em' a real loud blip of two stroke throttle or a second gear wheelie past their open window, or maybe a middle finger with so much force that i super heat the surrounding air hot enough to produce a thunderclap.

4king morons.

haha....god that's irritating. 4kers.

^^^I don't know where you got the notion that I lane split or ride three roads. I've been all over Oregon and into Washington. I've also ridden through most of the continental United States over the years. I also have ridden on real roads (rural, corkscrew two-lane turning at times into gravel) through the real America rather than roads that are most suitable for ill-handling cruisers (i.e., slabs shared with Winnebagos).

Screw Levenworth. Come out on a Fossil ride next spring.

Actually I think Leavenwroth is fun, great ride, either up the gorge or over the hills. we ride for two different reasons man, that much is very clear

comparing this d00d lane splitting to easy rider....

now if you wanna get to the actual pussification of America and examples of that, we can chat, this place is a target rich environment.

you were riding fine...don't worry about it...keep in mind people are so freaking angry in the NW right now. I just got back from HI...driving around over there, i'd let someone merge in and they'd always give me courtesy wave and vise versa, they'd stop and let me in to merge. I've been back for less then a week and have already had someone speed up to around 80mph when I was passing them for going under the speed limit..not to mention tons of other dumb shenanigans i've seen. respect gets respect on the road. personally I wish everyone would drive like motocrossers/ street riders...everyone would get over to be passed just like on the track.

rather hit Sturgis the gap is a road, lots of roads, run it, its done. Sturgis (And hundreds of similar events) is an event that you go to on the roads, the gap is just one of those roads... not like your gonna race it (although I will admit, closing it and racing it would be very cool)

True, Shrek, Sturgis would be better for a VTX... you have to admit that DG would be better on a "sportbike" than on a cruiser... I've run it on both a Suzuki M109 and an Aprilia RSV/R and can say, personally, the RSV/R got me from A to B a little bit sooner... NOT knocking Sturgis, which is an event that ALL m/c enthusiasts should attend at least ONCE in their lifetime, of course...

Oh, and you always can turn around and run DG in the other direction, then do it again, and again...

There are a lot of crazy assholes out on the road and if it comes to Cage vs Bike you lose every time, move on and put some space between you and them. It's not worth the time or effort, unless they force the issue.

Southern Oregon's been pretty good to me. I'm a big guy (I don't know about 10 reps at 230lbs big... ) on a big bike and I always get the courtesy nod and wave on at 4 way stops, cross walks, and most other places even if it's not my turn. I think most people just want to look at and hear the bike. The only close calls I've had are the asshats gettin off the freeway talking on their cell phones, taking their half outta the middle.

In the few years I've ridden, I've had ZERO issues with cars. It could be crazy luck. Or, it must be that distance thing Lee mentions.

Yeah sure. Maybe you shouldn't lane split/share here in Oregon but the guy's behaviour is absolutely not acceptable and psyco. That's no different from opening a door on you or cutting in front of you without looking. He WAS putting your life in danger because being on a bike, you have more things to pay attention to and should not have to deal with his bullshit!

I'm sorry Tim that you had to experience that. I recommend pulling into the police station if you were ever in that situation ever again. The cop might tell you that you voilated the traffic law but the guy definitely was a THREAT to your life and should have his license taken away from him so he will learn a lesson!

Be safe out there everyone. There are too many people who have no business behind the wheel out there. One of these days I'll share some stories about my days lane splitting in California as well as riding in Atlanta...

It's pretty much flat from here to there. Just ship the bikes over and spend a week in that area! Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherohala, Smoky Mountain, AND the famous Tail of the Dragon. Don't forget to stay at Fontana Village in Fontana Dam area. They have a pool, a few restaurant on site, horse back riding, dirt bike trails, etc. etc. Oh, and you can rent a boat on the lake to get wasted!

On a bike you can put a car in your rear view fast and gain some serious distance in no time. I have never had a problem with a car either. In fact it's kind of interesting, since people are a lot more courteous to me when I ride, then when I drive. They wave a lot more often. Clear the left lane ahead of time. Don't pull-out, in front of me. Let me merge, but that is not an issue usually, by the time they think about letting me in, I am past 'em.

Bikes are small, quick and agile, in comparison to cars. Use that to your advantage and don't get caught up in a pissing contest with another driver/rider, it's pointless.

I am not used to it, and it was fun i have to admit, this guy got sooo wound up over nothing. He continued to get wound up.

and I do know that Samuel Colt made all men (women too) equal.

This happened only once out of a few of them that I had come across.

No issues.

But if it hurts your feelings, and it seemed to then,, perhaps I can direct you to the cashier who can direct you to the tissue area of your local Wallgreens.

Nuttin wrong with pumpin iron and putting cage rioter idiots in their place.
As long as I don't use it to cause issues with people.

I have to remember that if I am a shyte on the road, it seems to reflect badly on us all.

So 99%+ of the time when issues arise, i just handle them in a cool way.
But they should know, likely they will stay in the relative safety of their cage.

With my helmet, leathers and those hard GP gloves, boots.

An attacker would last for only a few moments of pain.

A head butt, knee in the face followed by a leg, knee, shin, arch stomp with a good set of GP boots.

yeah, I'd rather keep riding.

Glad you are enjoying!

ahhh I leave the bandanna in the pickup truck; I'd have to go home, look for it, find it, likely put it in the wash, hang it out to dry.

A week has gone by and .... well it's time to go to the track again-or coffeeeee

As for posing....... strike a pose

Where to even begin, I've ridden a great deal over these past two months so I'm sure most people who realize who I am would agree I'm a good rider. I too am from California but am willing to do my best and adapt to my environment, that being said on the flip side I'm about me and no one else, I don't follow any rules other then than those I've deemed evaluable to riding fast and hard. I do have a child so I'm understanding to the plight of driving around and being preoccupied, if some one cuts me off unintentionally I just swallow my pride and let it slide. Now I recall a time when I was sitting on a street heading out east and found myself on a four lane avenue, I was third back in the left lane waiting for the red light to change when I decided to proceed at a speed of under 5 mph to the front of the line and the section between the cars was extremely wide so I thought it wouldn't case any upset. Once I arrived at the front of the line I immediately heard some profanity and a horn begin to honk, I did my best to control my anger (learned something in anger management) and tried to ignore them. The light turned green and I shot outta that hole thinking I'd left the problem behind, now I see this SUV coming up and knew they wanted an ass beating. Sometime I guess it's just best to give the people what they want, why fight it? They pull along side and his fat pig of a broad begins shouting, flipping me off and shaking her fist at me, they douche bag driver slim shady continues to lay on the horn. I attempt to invite them into the first available parking lot lot so we can discuss this issue, I turn in but am stymied when they continue on their route. They tough guys just keep at it and assume they've seen the last of me, honestly I must be getting old cuz I was going to let it slide. I pull back onto the street and keep my distance, as we approach the next intersection the light is red and I close the gap. Now this tough guy in his 3 ton SUV wants to play pace car and warm up his tires going from left to right across both lanes, at this point all mercy went out the window. I've made my mind up someones getting socked, I kinda hope it's his woman. She was the one in my face mostly and has me red hot. Lucky for her when he comes to a complete stop he's placed he side of the vehicle to close for me to squeeze through, I pull along side the driver and am in neutral and use my rear brake to stop keeping both hands available. I'm not sure what he expected after that little stunt, I was out for blood. Anywhere else I'd have pulled him from the car and stomped the shit outta him. It seemed as though I was watching a movie, not really happening at the speed of reality. When I placed my foot on the ground I simultaneously took a quick survey of my enemy and noticed he was leaning back in the sit hard, just as fast my left fist swung around smashing the bridge of his nose and shortly after it was followed my a quick right to the temple. I'll give the guy credit, for crying like a baby he took those hits and maintained consciousness. Now even if he wanted to do something what's he gonna do? Punch my helmet? I topped this serving of whoop ass off with " you ain't so tough now are you bitch?" The last I heard was someone yelling "did you see what he did?" I hope he see's that every time he closes his eyes or thinks about using his truck as a weapon...

My advice for anyone would be to avoid confrontation, if you aren't able to elude a car while on a bike through parking lot's well you can't ride and outta think about taking some more driving lesson's. Seriously for your own safety. Fluffy22 can give you some pointer's, tell her I sent you and get a discount. (LoL)

Which chapter of the book is this?
Braggarts do little to prove anything. You write a story which I have read many times, but in my many years of living, I've not once, witnessed anything even close to this. But listen to the bragging and watch the story grow like bread dough. How average.

I need a good ride and shut this damned thing off. SHEESH!......

Do you see that so far your the only one impressed with the amount of 230lb pull downs you can do? Nobody cares. If I was at your gym, I would be more concerned that some douche waffle was too busy staring me down, which happens all the time. I think most big gym rats have some deep rooted gayness and enjoy looking at mens bodies, I'm sure you know of some forums or magazines that you like to stare at and admire another mans glutes.

All I'm saying is flexing your bicep and curling your fist doesn't always work, sometimes you have to use your brain too.

Are you the clone of Steven Segal?
