I Ride: slowly, but with ferocity.
I need some route info from the west-siders.
Hey all-
I have some visitors coming, and would like to take them somewhere new.
I'm hoping somebody here can answer a few questions for me:

1. Is there a good route with some twisties that connects Hillsboro and Grand Ronde/Valley Junction?

2. Is Nestucca River Rd between Yamhill and Beaver a good ride for sportbike types?

3. What about Miami River Rd connecting Girabaldi to rt 53? is it worth a go?

The last 2 look promising on a map, but it's better to get the lowdown from people who've been there.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I Ride: naked
Not sure about 1, but yes on 2 and 3. Those are my favorite ways to and from the beach.

Here are my recommendations:

1. Hillsboro to Grand Ronde:
Google Map for Question 1

#2 is OK. There is a couple miles of gravel (unless you know where to turn off on "Bald Mountain Rd" - aka Bible Creek Rd. This is the 4th dot on this route map) If you stay on Nestucca River Road, there has been road construction in some of the better parts before getting to Beaver. It is totally fine, but don't expect to rail it.

It's best to turn off of on Bald Mountain Rd, and take it to the Y in the road and then turn RIGHT to take it Gilbert Creek back down to Nestucca River Rd. and into Blaine.

Google Map for Question 2

#3 Miami Foley Rd is superb.

Have a great ride!

Wow.
SpeedGeek, I am truly in your debt. This is just what the doctor ordered. Thank you a ton for mapping the route. Creating google maps kind of makes my head want to explode a tiny bit.

You rule!
