I think the area under the Marquam Bridge down to and just past the Ross Island Bridge which was where they'd not build for years and left fallow was part of that Toxic area. They just cemented over it and GULP built housing, office buildings etc. If you see areas where nothing has been built for years, and especially if it has a fence around it, well..... then you know something is not quite right! Happy Days to All! pv2 Not toxic at all! ![]() |

I Ride: 07 zx6r | Nope nothing toxic at all...remember the round house in old town..nothing some marketing a new name "the pearl"nothing some condos can't fix. Or how about our high tec sewer system creating portland brown trout. The ship dismantling;building of the Kaiser ships. pcbs from transformer production...or the decomissioning of the them by bulldozing them off the back of the dam.oh ya there is precision cast parts in port. The only site in port legally cocidered a radioactive waste site/ fined monthly for releasing hydrofloric in johnson creek. The paper plant in oc ofcoure releases no dioxon into th river. If you are one of the few natives left in port you know the truth before the calf developers marketed portland. Last edited by rookie; 11-04-2009 at 09:18 AM.. |

Gottta say the California Money machine with the assistance of the local municipality brought some changes to the city; however, there is always a price to be paid, and some of it just sweeps goodies under the rug for other generations to fix/ pay for wilst people are ... getting poisoned away. Trees??? Nah, we want DEVELOPMENT! More People, bigger tax base, if you aren't growing, you are dieing!!! I am always one of the people who believes PDX should have its own heavy industry; however, it should be clean. We removed most of the non-green industries; and the jobs / stability / self reliance we had - went out the door with it. Now someone else has it, and we are paying them to pollute in their own back yard, and are now owing them lotsss of money! Guess Who??? Oh: 1. Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta - 5 months 2. Detroit-Warren-Livonia - had a job offer this week and refused to go - too far away 3. Chicago-Naperville-Joliet - 6 months 4. Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown - 6 months 5. Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington - NEver for the city of brotherly love 6. Cleveland-Elyria-Mentor - Never for the Mistake by the Lake 7. Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana - 2 years 8. Jacksonville - Nope 9. Baltimore-Towson - Nope 10. Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton - Born here! Raised here and lived here for about....25 years Last edited by pv2; 11-04-2009 at 10:24 AM.. | |
