Next time you're down this way, let us know and we'll show you some more of those roads (and most are much better than Germantown...).

Germantown from Skyline to Route 30 is awesome, if you don't get a car in front of you. But, I'd have to give the nod to McNamee for its length, technicality and lack of cars.

Just be careful of the gravel which seems to be sitting in some of the corners.

Not that it was planted there, must be something to do with the magnetic attraction of rocks for the center of the road and the superposition of centripetal force of moments about a point and the right vector force.

McNamie does rock. I like Germantown down to the hwy too. But McNamie is just a hoot.

I don't ride a sportbike any longer on the street. On the tard, a little gravel isn't a bad thing...

I just might take you up on that. I just might wait till spring though, the leaves were looking a bit nasty last week. Perfect conditions for, say, a 2009 WRX STI...just wish I had one.

Germantown used to b my fav yrs ago, but since then every cager has found it to b a perfect shortcut around 26 or wherever they're headed. I loved drivin it in the 06 STI I had . There r tons of great road in this area, and I can play for hours right in my back yard. Ride year round and gravel, leaves, rain etc become no prob

I learned about Germantown 10 years ago when I used to commute from Hillsboro to St. Johns for company meetings. When I got my first bike a few years ago, it was one of the first roads that I went to ride. It is a beauty, if only it was longer.

What about Logie Trail just north of McNamee?

Logie trail is more technical with tough hairpin switchbacks, and it is probably as long as McNamee with even fewer cars or houses. But, the road surface is not as good and, because so much of it is under trees, that surface tends to stay damp and develop moss. I probably like it second to McNamee, but wish the road surface were a bit smoother and provided more bite.

If you've got to decide which direction to run them from Skyline, then I'd recommend down McNamee to 30, left on 30 to Logie Trail, and then up Logie to Skyline again. The switchbacks on Logie are more fun going up than down, and the tight sweepers on McNamee are more fun going down into left-handers than up (and into traffic) on the right handers where your front end is going to get light and want to drift you wide into oncoming traffic.

Rocky Point would probably move up above Logie for me, if the road surface weren't so degraded and full of debris almost all the time. I've run over fan belts and other car parts on that road. Maybe it beats the hell out of cars, too.

i had a blast going up Rocky Point Rd the other day.
Yeah it was wet n leafy in places, but it was a lot of fun to push the bike around going uphill, outta those turns.
Good fer practice (practicing having fun, that it is .. oh, and control)
The lower parts were dry n quick, with nicley linked turns.

Last year I saw a sports car railing down RP and run off the road, so its not kind to cars either.

Corn Pass road
I recall a section of Cornelius Pass towards 30 as your heading down the N. side of the peak that has a left and right hander that are both reverse cambered that used to eat up a lot of bikes in the day Lot's of great roads out on the west side, no doubt!!!

I like Rocky Point too. Gravel just means you need to be able to alter your line.
Pavment's a little busted up, but it's not a big deal on a tard.
I chased Vaun down all them roads and was wondering how he does it on a sportbike...
They're all big time fun.
