I hope to be at the Chevron sometime around 5:30 PM this afternoon. I have my safety gear with me so if I do work late I'll be set. No more riding in office attire for Dick.

Looking forward to working that flat spot off the center of my rear tire!

I understand that you met with Russell and worked on routes and prerode some areas yesterday. Sorry I couldn't make it. A little more organization will go a long way with some of the newer riders.
We ride this area every day but for those who don't it's nice to give them an idea what they can expect

Dang,
Russell and I had a communications mixup. Originally we were to meet at my place. My jacket and gear, with cell phone was hanging on the bike out front. Russell was texting me to meet him at the Chevron. I was inside the house watching SPEED. My guess was Russell was delayed by a more critical matter. When I went out to the bike, I checked my cell and saw Russell's text. MY BAD.

I did take a run up to Bald Peak though.

Thanks for the ride guys, was nice to get out with a group for a change. I will get out again soon for a follow up. Next time though I think we should loop Hagg an additional time. Its effort to get there might as well enjoy it! And just curious how many group speeding tickets you earned... lol.

It was nice having you with the group.
Good recommendation for that second loop around Hagg Lake. At times we're under a little pressure to get back to Ava's at a reasonable hour. That second loop would likely add no more than 15 minutes to the ride. From my end, I would be good with the additional loop. We'll have to discuss this option between 5:30 and 6:00 PM with our group prior to the Tuesday ride.
GROUP SPEEDING TICKETS? I have no idea what you are referring to. I believe on the FEW times when I looked down at the display, my speedometer was indicating a valid speed. From my experience, we've never been stopped by a speedometer enforcement officer AS A GROUP.
When you get to be as OLD as I am the joints start to get a bit stiff. At times my right wrist seems to give me problems during the throttle roll on. Do you think I need to invest in a better throttle?

Looking forward to seeing you out on one of our rides again.

I have been riding with Pnw group 3 or 4 years and 2 in the Portland group. Never once seen anyone get a ticket on a group ride. But then we ALWAYS ride under the speed limit right? I think LEO may be happier to have an organized experienced group that promotes safety than a couple noobs who endanger everyone. I've been "waved down" a couple times but they seem pretty reasonable.

Last time marbles ran out past grand lodge on too many roads to list. Ask him if you want his route.

If you are leaving from Beaverton my favorite is Farmington to bald peak then down laurelwood and out to the lake from there.

Last week’s route to Hagg Lake:
Departed the Chevron – Southwest on NW Imbrie Dr to Evergreen Pkwy.

Right on Evergreen Pkwy (only one block) to a right on NW 229th / NW Bennett St.

Right at ‘T’ onto NW 235th / Huffman St.

Right at ‘T’ onto NW Brookwood Pkwy to a Left at NW Meek Rd (just before Hwy 26)

West on NW Meek Rd out the Jackson School Rd ‘T’

Right and then quick Left from Jackson School Rd onto NW Scotch Church Rd.
Continue out to the intersection with NW Glencoe Rd and straight through over to NW Zion Church Rd.
This will become Cornelius Schefflin Rd.

At the ROUND stay right and turn onto NW Verboort Rd.

At the next ROUND – loop around and take Martin Rd SOUTH
Martin Rd will intersect with Hwy 47 – turn Left and take Hwy 47 South crossing over Hwy 8

Continue South on Hwy 47 to “Old Oregon 47” and turn Right.
Turn Right at Scoggins Vally Rd and up to Hagg Lake.
