![]() ![]() | There is no disagreement at all. I was just giving him some shit about this ride last week, no biggie. I am not in charge of this ride, it's a rotating lead ride and looks like Clay wants to do it now for a while which is fine. There is no reason for others to not lead another non-newbie ride at the same time. |

There are a few people i would be concerned about taking on a more spirited ride that i would love to get out for this kind of coaching. I hope you keep it up Clay. a split group seems to be working really well to keep everyone happy. i love going out with the groups but i suck at organizing so thanks to everyone who is working to keep everyone showing up and rubber side down. |

| Peg Dragger | ![]() However it has been my experience that Wednesdays tend to show up without fail but people don't. Whoever shows up each week will decide what happens - and that's the beauty of the standing ride. Rob, may he rest in peace, co-opted this ride a year ago and to his credit, a lot of people showed up every week. Then Rob got married so he stopped going and then nobody showed up. This is the problem with making it someone's ride. It is Wednesday's ride. ![]() |

| Railer Joined: Mar 2008 From: Beaverton I Ride: For Rob, Gary, Bill... and the newbs | WSWR for new riders!! (don't forget ROB!) HEY!!! so there is NOOOOO misunderstanding: LENA IS ALWAYS IN CHARGE!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() if mamma' aint happy... ![]() Love you Lena - a lot! yeah, no argument going on, just me and Lena pokin' each other, sorry to confuse!! the thoughts about this being wednesday's ride -HELL YEAH! As for me, I (for some annoying reason) feel somewhat responsible for helping out new riders. I keep randomly rolling up on DEATHLY reasons to get back in the game and try to provide a little help to those of you that are ready to hear my blabbering... So - my plan is to meet about 5:30 and start giving a few new riders (that want it) some guidance on how to survive on the street. (this isn't knee dragging, or how to 'go fast' discussion - this is SURVIVAL) Usually, the group leaves around 6:15 - well, those that wanna can hang a little later and I'll roll out about 6:30 on a slow, new rider friendly ride. Please understand, this is a easy paced, relaxed ride (for those with experience). My focus will be on keeping an eye on the newer riders, making sure they DO NOT scuff their bikes, and gently introducing them to some group riding concepts (like - remember what happened to Warren?). I WISH I could flip this back to Tuesday like a few years ago - it was just AWESOME to end this ride at Ava's for TNC - and it really cemented a good foundation of contacts for most new riders, so please, don't be afraid to go Tuesday to TNC!!! However, I am GLAD that I can work my schedule now to try to 'remember Rob' every wednesday!! Those that don't know, ask around -he was worth hearing about! who knows what the future holds? last week, that deer almost killed me - this week I'm probably gonna be leading this ride on a ninja 500, 2-up! ![]() let's have fun, and BE SAFE! |
