![]() ![]() | Hey all, talked with Sax, there are a few guys that are already pulling it together but until they do and until we (they) hear from the family what exactly they want to do, lets not plan any memorial rides or anything actually. I think you all know this but just making sure. Also, if anyone knows for sure his year of birth, please PM me ASAP. |

Rob was many things to many people and could always be counted upon to have a friendly word for everyone he was riding with and compliments for their bikes. Prayers of comfort please for his wife and his extended family. He will be missed most of all by them and that is a large burden to carry. God's peace to all who have lost a friend. |

| Permit Joined: Jul 2009 From: tualatin, oregon I Ride: Yamaha XVS 1100 | I rode on his Tuesday pre TNC rides all last summer and lived for those rides. He was such a nice guy im so sad I only made it to part of one this summer :-( I got there and he yelled "Hey Red, your riding sweep for me again this year right?" I'd been away from riding too long though and couldnt keep up that ride so I caught up with them later at Ava's... RIP Rob I'm going to miss seeing your smiling face at TNC and I'm going to really miss your tuesday rides... ![]() ![]() |

| Superbiker Joined: Jul 2007 From: Camas, Washington I Ride: 05 zx12r | damn. when I saw the title, I hoped it was some kind of prank or inside joke about something... that would have been Rob's style. but it's not. damn. <wipes away tears> God speed brother' you were one of the good ones and you will be missed. Why do the good people always have to go so soon... ![]() <laughs> I remember the first time I met Rob, we were on a group ride... small maybe only 5 of us? It was a decent day in town but we headed up the hill and it got cold and foggy, like riding inside the cloud... wet, slippery as hell. Ya couldnt close yer visor cuz of all the condensation on it inside and out... we get up to the top at the turnout place (a little white nuckle most of the way, if ya know what I mean) and Rob takes the helmet off, face all red from being half frozen... and there's that big ear to ear grin of his. Half laughing, he says "kinda slick hungh?" ![]() Crazy bastid... ![]() This ones for you brother' RIP Rob, rip. Last edited by ddonacazx12; 05-20-2012 at 07:19 PM.. |

I was on my way to the Sylvan Chevron to for a group ride waiting at a light on Murray Blvd. Rob pulled up next to me and immediately flipped his visor up and says "Hey nice bike!" followed by inviting me to the ride that I was already on my way to, I thought that it was pretty cool the way he extended and invitation to a total stranger. To his family and friends that see this, I'm terribly sorry for your loss, it was way too soon. This place and the local motorcycling community as a whole won't be the same without him..... |

| Training Wheels Joined: Oct 2010 From: Portland OR. I Ride: 08' FZ1, 02' Monster 620 | This is really sad new, he was a real genuine character and and I know he will be missed by many. I only got to ride with him a handful of times but he left an impression on me each ride. He was actually the very first person I spoke with in person from this forum and always seemed to welcome new and unfamiliar faces without hesitation. The first time we met was on a wednesday ride when we stopped at the broken spoke. He mentioned how hungry he was and I offered him a leftover ham sandwich I had with me from my gf's deli, he graciously accepted and offered to buy me a beer. He asked me what i wanted, so I said "I'll take a mirror pond" a few minutes later he returned to the table with two coors lights, and said something like I don't know what that is.. a few weeks later he was leading a group of us on a pre TNC ride, it was a really awesome route that he made sure to explain some of the tricky bits to everyone ahead of time. and a few blocks before we got to ava's he pulls in to the center lane (with a group of about six in tow) just to switch helmets so he could pull up to the lot wearing his half shell. I was really looking forward to hanging out and riding more with him this season. Its really sad to know that won't ever happen. Rest in peace my friend, I'm glad you went out pain free and hopefully dreaming about the things you love. \m/ |

Rob was definitely a character and you can't help but like him. A bit "rambunctious" on rides at times, but he was a genuine guy and all heart. My sincere condolences to his wife and family. 43 years old is too young to go. |
