| beansbaxter is too lazy to come up with something but he will get to it, eventually... ![]() | This has nothing to do with why almost everything is made in china. It's shareholders and stock prices that drives publicly traded companies to outsource to china. Share prices are more important to corporations than customer service and satisfaction. |

I guess now that I think of it, it is a TAD bit bigger than my other helmets but that's it. It's very stable on high speed, daily commutes here in California so I like it a lot. What bothers me more is someone who gives out wrong information at a dealership though. |

I've got an Arai RX-7, Shoei X-12, Suomy, etc, etc, etc. and the Bell Star has better air flow than any of them. It's the only helmet I've ever worn that when you actually open up the vents you can feel air coming in. |

SHARP is basically the only realistic testing for how well a helm protects your brain. That's why I like the european standard better than snell. The snell rating for example is fine in that your head will look great, but the problem is, your brain will suffer so many deceleration Gs that you will be a veggie. OHHH and if you've got a Bell, you gotta love the transisions lens technology on the visor... I know it's a C-note for a visor, but come on... dark to light back to dark again, depending on ambient light conditions. How F-ing cool is that ?!?!?! We used to have a meeting 30 minutes prior to the store opening. Once a week. We let everyone know what was new. What the trends where. Where we could get product. ect. Yes, we missed every now and then. But, we where trying. |

| Licensed Joined: Feb 2010 From: OR I Ride: Slower than you. | I went to Beaverton Honda recently looking for a Nolan N104. They didn't have much variety, but hey did have the size and color I wanted. I asked if they price matched and the sales person said "yeah, but these prices are factory-set... good luck finding it cheaper online" So, I showed her where Revzilla had it for $100 cheaper than them. She then said "well... I'm reporting them" and stood there for a minute. I said "Ok, but will you match them". After checking with the manager (or whatever), she came down to $369 ($20 more than revzilla) which I decided was worth it for the immediate gratification. I also bought the bluetooth module for it (for the same amount as the helmet). I tried it out, and the volume on the BT unit was unusable (maybe just a bad unit, I dunno). I tried to return it the following day and she (same sales person) wouldn't (at first) give me a refund, pointing to a small sign behind he register saying "no refunds on electronics" (Imagine if Best Buy had that policy). After some groaning, she took it back, but wouldn't give me the refund until she got through to her Nolan rep on the phone, and had me explain to him (???) why I was taking it back. This took an extra half an hour I didn't have on my lunch break. I won't be going back to them. Last edited by UglyBaldMan; 07-24-2012 at 06:17 PM.. |

| Post Whore (In Training) Joined: Jul 2006 From: Portland OR I Ride: wee-strom, | why I"ll never buy anything from them http://www.runeriders.com/forum/show...eaverton+honda for those too busy to click, I saw a rune at beaverton honda with custom paint. I posted to find out who sold it and some history on the bike, here is what the prior owner of the rune said. " That's my totaled Rune at Beaverton Honda Hi All - Just a quick reply to anyone interested. That is my old Rune in the photo. I went down to Beaverton Honda to confirm it. Of course the saleman tried to sell it to me again. He said it had "never been down and didn't have a scratch." I actually scratched it to the tune of $21,500 when it was totaled six months ago. I thought a totaled bike had to have salvage title. Are they crooked, or what??????" |

![]() ![]() Joined: Jun 2007 From: Portland, Oregon I Ride: naked | I can't speak for their motorcycle sales department because I've never bought a bike there. As for their gear department, I've bought quite a few things and every time I've asked them to price match, from Sidi boots to multiple Shoei helmets, without a hitch the lady said no problem. Additionally they said if it did not fit return it and we'll get the right one. This was a few years back and things have changed, but I've never gotten anything, but great customer service from them. Same thing on the parts counter, good service. They are overpriced like most dealers, but customer service was there. Only run in that I had with the service department was trying to take my ZX6R for the regulator recall and they wanted the bike in their hands while they ordered the part. I asked if I could read the vin# to them so they can do it that way and it was not happening. Called Hillsboro Motorsports, read them the vin#, they ordered the part and gave me a call when it was in. |

Dead stable in head checks and riding in dirty air by semi-trucks. Gonna get the Transitions faceshield for my Star in the near future, but my ST needs new shoes first.And....if you buy a Vortex, you can buy a Transitions shield and it will also fits the Star if you ever buy one in the future. |

EDIT: Thrasher and others, as for BHY doing questionable stuff, I worked there as a mechanic in the late 80s and they did some pretty shady stuff back then, I've never seen anything over the years to convince me it's ever changed. Out of the 15-20 times I've gone back over the years, probably 13-18 of those times I've left feeling like they are just as bad or worse than ever. (imho... your milage may vary) Last edited by ddonacazx12; 07-25-2012 at 04:22 PM.. | |
