I am never, EVER going up Mulholland.

Why the fuck is everybody high-siding on that same exact spot?! All of the "motorcycle bowling" vids of Mulholland seem to have the rider losing it right there as well. Something must be wrong with the pavement, because plenty of those guys aren't even close to the edge (I've taken the 217-26 S-bends faster).

on staying away from Mulholland. If you want to kill yourself use a shotgun, it's faster, and you don't screw up a perfectly good bike.

I agree that there could be some sketchy pavement, but I wonder if the presence of the camera might have something to do with it as well. They take their eyes off of corner exit and entry of next one to glance at the cameraman.

Gotta look good for the camera.

Mulholland is actually a great road to ride. A lot of nice cars and crazy, good riders have ridden that road. There are more recorded crashes on that corner because there is a spot there for everyone to chill at and watch that one turn. It's a turn where it will definitely bite back if you don't know what you're doing (body lean, throttle control, etc).

I've been wanting to go out there and ride for some time now but I live about 6 hours away :(

If you watch some of those vids on a full size screen. You can see a lot of riders just ham fisted with the gas.

A camera and lots of people watching can get your ego going.

Isn't that how most of us use to get our selfs in trouble?, by showing off?

There's nothing wrong with the pavement. It's a positive camber constant radius turn at the entry that flattens out into a decreasing radius turn at the exit. It's just tricky enough to catch a lot of people out. It doesn't help to take a glance at the camera and people standing around, which is hard not to do. I rode it at a very moderate pace several times before testing my mad cornering skilz. Most of the people who crash there are riding it the first time.
