I don't know of a good route to get from Sweet Home to the Aufderheide. There is gonna be some slabbing involved for sure.

Nice 1 to 1.5 lane road. Lots of twists.

Hey Billy...can this route be railed like the ranger station/windy ridge? Good pavement? Do you do it as an out and back or just slab back from Sweet Home? Lots of LEO's? I'm craving some new routes.

I haven't ridden it. That was the whole idea behind going last time - I wanted to scout it out. It looks pretty tight and narrow. I've heard the following from others:
No LEO's
Patches of sketchy/broken pavement
A few places with loose gravel in the corners
Some very tight technical sections

Sounds a lot like Windy Ridge to me!

I say we go rail it and find out

It's a great run but about half of it is one lane, very narrow and some pavement is sketchy enough that if you don't know where, you can be caught off guard like a very good rider I know that hit a major bump on a very expensive Ducati ... Some great twisties on the one-lane section and some great sweepers on the two-lane section but lots of campers at the west end.

No great way to get to Aufderheide but not far from it is MacKenzie Pass, which, after being repaved two years ago is TO DIE FOR!!! Just did it few days ago.

I am heading out to Aufderheide this Sunday, never been that way....

I think we met at RippleBrook last sunday. I was on the black/gold Street Triple R leading a group towards Detroit Lake. It was our annual memorial ride for a close friend who passed away from cancer in 08'. Sounds like you and the other two riders(Repsol CBR and SV650) had a good ride.
