My prayers and condolences go out to Cori, the immediate family and anyone who was fortunate enough to be around the Gentle Giant. While I’m saddened by this news I’m sure that he’s been blessed with endless sunny days, perfect riding conditions and he will be smiling down upon us all. |

| Permit Joined: Jul 2008 From: Portland, OR I Ride: 2007 GSX-R750 | This is awful news. Bill was one of those guys who would always stand out in a crowd. I rode with him a few times on group rides. He was always friendly and welcoming, and even remembered my name months later on the next ride. More than just a good rider, he was a genuine person who made those around him better just through his presence and positive attitude. I didn't know him well, but I will miss seeing him at PIR and on group rides. My condolences to his family, I can't imagine the pain of losing a spouse and father. | Licensed | What a loss... ![]() I remember Bill from my first ever ride up HWY 53 a few years ago...he was on the milktruck with his daughter and his ability to toss that thing around 2-up no less, was amazing. An impressive rider, a genuine guy...a loss to the community. Condolences to his family... |

![]() ![]() Joined: Jun 2007 From: Portland, Oregon I Ride: naked | My deepest condolences to Bill's family. He was truly a great guy and a friend to anyone on two wheels. This is a loss to us all. Never had a chance to go out to Eastern Oregon with him, but even if I have not talked to him for a year he still made an effort to send out an invite, always very thoughtful. Always the first to pull over, give a hand, and stick around till the rider was taken care of. You'll be missed Bill. Last edited by DGA; 08-24-2012 at 09:25 AM.. |

| (Oregon) City ![]() Joined: May 2007 From: Keizer,Ore I Ride: 08 GSXR 1K | At a loss for words.... Met Bill a few years back on a Fossil trip. One of the nicest guys and most skilled riders I have met. Very stand up guy! I am truly shocked by this. All of us on two wheels know this may happen but it's not supposed to happen this much, especially this year! This sucks! RIP Bill. Cory and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you. From one riding family to another, if there is anything your riding family can do from the Salem/Keizer area, please let us know... Mike (Copper) Last edited by CopperSV1; 08-24-2012 at 09:28 AM.. |

| Endorsed Joined: Aug 2009 From: Tigard, OR I Ride: 2007 Aprilia Tuono | I had the honor of working for the same employer as Bill for the last 4 months. We never got to ride together, but were trying to work out a time to. We talked a lot about motorcycles, ride routes, and guns. He was a great guy, and always had a smile in the office. I didn't know him for long, but he is truly missed. My prayers go out to his family to find comfort in the midst of tragedy. |

| Moto2 Contender | We were lucky to have you with us, Bill. Far too briefly. My first ride with you (HawnduhV65's first newbie-friendly ride in 2007) plays in my mind frequently when I want to think of pure two-wheeled joy. Your riding skill was only exceeded by your enthusiasm. I'm also proud to have been a Fossil hooligan invitee. Another of my most memorable riding experiences. |

| Licensed Joined: May 2009 From: Sl,UT | Man, excuse my words but WHAT THA FUCK!!! I met him a couple times and ripped up Windy Ridge with Bill, caslaw, Norainy, and Mrmat25 a few weeks ago. I was around him enough to know he was a good person and a great rider. I thought riding with the Portland crew would clear my head of the loss of another great person and rider Chuck/MVSB just weeks before this. It worked and I realized I was looking toward many more rides with Bill as a friend and a person to learn from. Now Bills gone This is just too fucking much Rob, Chuck, Bill Another great one gone but not forgotten RIP Last edited by thrasher; 08-24-2012 at 12:56 PM.. |

| Shredder | I don't believe I ever had the pleasure of meeting SpeedGeek or even riding with him, but I did know of him from just having been on the forum for so long. As such, I can't offer any real testament to what a great rider and man he was. The many comments made by those who did know and ride with him, however, are a true testament to him, and bespeak just how much he was respected, not just as a rider, but as a human being as well. Prayers and Condolences to his family and friends. RIP SpeedGeek. |
