Help with a route for a slow-n-easy 2up ride near PDX
Hey folks, I'd like to take a friend for a nice, scenic, somewhat short ride (think maybe 1 hour seat time). I know plenty of nice routes around Hillsboro where I used to ride, but now I live in NE PDX and my friend who wants to go for a ride lives in SW. So, any route suggestions for some really easy-going and pleasant for a passenger? Ideally the start point would be close to downtown so we could meet and go from there.

Skyline would probably be your best bet.

Meet off NW burnside and 23rd take vista up to the SW hills and just keep taking road after road there all pretty good up there, a little spirited but fun nonetheless. The people I've taken 2up always love those roads and area.

you could also run out Foster road to Damascus and then loop back down to 212/224 and back into town. fairly easy going, nothing to "hair raising" some town, some country.

2 hours with a stop in the middle would be better and more scenic......
just sayin.....

also get a couple of maps. thomas street guide of pdx which covers a lot of territory or a fold out map of pdx and oregon to look at and plan some routes. kind of nice to relax after the workweek with a cool beverage and plan rides for the future.
