10 days = 2300 miles
Just got back from San Diego. What an epic, long ride!!! We had so much fun, even did some canyon carving near Salona Beach (spell?). Hubby blew a front tire 20 miles south of Portland on the way back....huge gash....but he kept it up and got to the side safely. We took I-5 both ways to save time, I would highly recommend that trip to all newbies!!!...i learned so, so much: How to pass a truck (lessons 1-500), how to handle grooved pavement in BIG, HUGE, GIANT wind, getting my butt off the seat through big, fast sweeps (the funnest thing EVER), how to deal with LA rush hour (ugh), how to hold your pee for 10 exits over very bumpy pavement, when to bottom out the throttle to get away from some dumb driver coming on top of you at 90, how to stand on the footpegs doing 80 to counter achy knees, and MOST IMPORTANTLY that you need to make sure that your jacket and pants cover your ENTIRE back while riding in the 90-100 degree sun (lovely sunburn directly above my ass)! All in all, it was the most super fantastic, gigantanormous trip ever and i wouldn't trade it for the world. Here are some pics:

Excellent lessons all. That was some ride. This will be one for you and your hubby remember when you're stuck in the house in February and the temp outside is in the teens and the freezing rain is coming down. Thanks for sharing.
