| MotoGP Contender Joined: Mar 2007 From: Portland/Beaverton I Ride: 2007 Yamaha R6s | 1 year: Remembrance Daniel Newell ~ 05-28-07 Last year, Memorial Day fell on May 28th, 2007...but for many of us...memorial day will be a day that we remember not only for the great group ride we all shared with each other that day out to Detorit Lake, but also in that many riders, family, friends and loved ones lost Daniel Newell. I was just thinking about that this morning on the way into work today, how chilly, overcast and gray it is and how beautiful that day was...right now we'd all be meeting in Oregon City...I remember talking abit with Daniel while he munched his Mcgriddle down, I had just met him the Thursday Prior (wanker's corner bike night)...For those that were not there or do not know who Danny is, he's the one wearing blue jeans. I'll be down at the crash site on Wednesday (28th) evening if anybody would like to join me. R.I.P. I will never forget the huge group ride I had the privilege to participate in in Danny's honor. I say a little prayer for him each time I run the Esplanade. Rest in peace, Danny. |

That was my first group ride and the first time I met Danny. Bill spent quite a bit of time talking with him that day and was looking forward to riding with him throughout the summer. I still pray for his children and have never forgotten what a great guy he was! |

I remember that day . On the news ,the accident was reported and it was so sad. As the days went by, and to learn more about Danny, and his family (all those kids) made it so much more tragic. I told my kids about the accident after it happened. They still pray for Danny and his family every night. I never met Danny, but I will never forget him.Blessings and prayers allways to Danny and his family. |

Meeting for westsiders: WED, 28th 5:00pm at The usual spot; Starbucks at Freddie's on the South side of Hillsdale. Kick stands up & rollin' at 5:45pm. Logan and I were fortunate enough to spend some time with Danny's Mother and Brother Matthew after the candle light vigil. His Mom read us an email that she had received from Danny that Mother's Day, I was so amazed at how strong she was because she new Danny was in a safe place. What amazed me even more was to see what a great community PNWriders is and the way everyone showed there support to Danny and his Family. I am truly blessed to be apart of this community (even though I am currently without a bike). Ok, seriously the little white hyundai was only doing what she does best, go as fast as her driver thinks it can go.. in reality, it's NO mr2. :( But glad to keep you on your toes David.
