| Pit Crew Joined: Mar 2007 From: Tigard, Oregon | Rider Down on Canyon Rd I just got a call from a friend that said there is a royal blue sportbike in bad shape and a lot of cops doing a scene investigation on Canyon Road close to HWY 26 so I guess that is the West Slope area. She said the bike was messed up bad. I pray that the rider is ok. That is all I know. Please post up if you here anything about it. |

| Newbie Joined: May 2008 From: Portland I Ride: 2006 GSX-R 600 | The rider who went down is my friend Jay. He is in serious condition currently in ICU and has lost a lot of blood. Most bones on his right side are broken and he ruptured a major artery in his right leg. At this point there is still a possibility the leg will need to be amputated. His vital organs are okay however we don't know much else right now. Jay is an experienced rider and this really hits home that we are all very much mortal/vulnerable. Please have your thoughts and prayers with him for a speedy recovery. |

| Newbie Joined: May 2008 From: Portland I Ride: 2006 GSX-R 600 | You folks are a fine group of people. Jay and his family thank you for your kindness and consideration. It looks like he was involved in a t-bone with a Jeep. It has yet to be determined who is at fault. Two vertebrae are broken, right arm, femur in two places, two ribs, and numerous bone fragments throughout his body. Apparently when the femur broke, it ruptured/penetrated a major artery and skin. Sounds like the leg will be okay if it doesn't get infected. Thanks again for all your support. |
