Talking Join the ranks - Passed test
Yeah I join the ranks of endorsed riders! I passed test at DMV today, feeling pretty good. I want to thank a couple riders (you know who you are) out there who helped a long the way I appericate the time you took out to help me.

Congratulations, Gypsy! Best wishes for many years of good riding.

Here is one cautionary rule of thumb, that I hope you have heard before: Always assume that you're invisible to cage drivers, even if they appear to be looking at you, "I swear officer, that motorcycle came out of nowhere!".
That attitude will keep you out of a lot of trouble.

you need your birth certificate? I passed team oregon and went to the DMV the next day with my drivers license, team oregon card, and the form for the motorcycle endorsement. they didn't say anything about a birth certificate. my license worked for all of it. it was really quick in the DMV. not many people that day. they just gave us the eye test, took our pic then gave us our piece of paper shit endorsement until the "real" POS thing came in the mail. i still can't believe how flimsy and cheap the new licenses and everything are.

When I got my license they needed birth certificate and SSN also they needed proof of address.

DMV can never make up their minds...seems its different every time you go in.

It's new. Everytime you go to DMV to make a change to your license you need the birth certificate. Freaking blows!

If you have a passport, you can use that instead of a birth certificate. If you don't have a passport, well, you need your birth certificate to get the passport, so make sure you don't toss it. I used my passport and the social security card I got when I was 10. My signature hasn't changed much since then.

BTW, congrats. I did the Team Oregon class at the end of July, got my bike a week later, rode 140 miles, then started to have some health issues. Bike is in the garage stuck at 140 miles. Sigh.
