I have spent quite a lot of time on the roads up around skyline blvd so I'm familiar with some of them. Anyways, I guess I'll just show up a bit early if I don't hear anything back. Oh, and do you guys still meet at the shell station off 26? looking forward to the ride.. -Joren Last edited by joren; 09-09-2009 at 08:05 AM.. |

I keep waiting for him to just put both feet down on one side and ride side-saddle (noting his 'lean practices')... HE HE... Sorry, Clay. Love ya! Good ride tonight. Riding 'sweep' suits me just fine. I'll keep my street bike shiny that way. Oh, and Pavel, you weren't sloppy. I thought tonight was one of the better rides in that department... Everyone seemed to be riding smoothly. Now, if we could just get Clay that Sidecar he OBVIOUSLY wants to be riding in... ![]() |

| MotoGP Champion | ^^^Heh heh. I was just trying to fake you out. Neither of us know that road, apparently, and my smoke shield didn't help in the dwindling daylight. Blind leading the blind. Thrill a second, though, trying not to get run over by you. I've gotta get a super some day. |

He started it this year (and last year as well) and then you took over pretty much for the whole summer. I think he deserves a little room here up the very front. |

| MotoGP Champion | The idea behind the Standing Rides was to have a ride that goes on a particular day at a particular time whether anybody shows up or not. They were to be self-perpetuating. Fun4i and I were the original ride leaders, but others have stepped up and led the rides when we weren't there. And, even when I was there, I would sometimes ask others to lead. I did this because sometimes I didn't feel like leading, and sometimes I thought it was good to have someone else's style and knowledge of roads inject some variety—a needed thing on a ride that starts at the same location and goes essentially the same roads more than a dozen times each season. Personally, I don't think it's good for the leadership to be a lock. I like the loose nature of the route and it's good to give other aspiring (or veteran) leaders and sweepers a chance to cut their teeth on these "baby" rides. And, it gives everyone some variety. As for time, it is getting noticeably dark now by about 7:00, which gives us only about an hour of daylight. Often, our rides don't last much longer than that, anyway. But, we might want to start the rides fifteen minutes earlier next week and then by 5:30 the week after. It is already difficult for me to get to the start by 6:00, so I probably won't be doing many more of these this season anyway. Or, those nights that I can get there by 6:00, I can lead a ride going out later and shorter. I'll post up if I do this. Last edited by Transported; 09-23-2009 at 11:14 AM.. |

I have been leading them lately, but if someone else wanted to step up I would yeild it, I usually ask Vaun when he comes if he wants to lead or if I can. A few times people asked me to lead or volunteered. I just wanna ride, thats all I readlly care about |

| Streetfighter Joined: Jun 2008 From: Portland, Oregon I Ride: 03 RC51 SP-2 | Well in the origional thread I think it said SUMMER. When: Every Wednesday night during the summer! Bikes Roll @ 6:00PM (If you wanna talk show up early.) Welcome to the 1st day of fall! Oh shyte, let me change to Autumn. Fall does not sound like a good season for us LOL!!! If someone wants to have an early ride, because they'd like to escape faster, then I'd guess that early group could certainly start out somewhere and then meet up at a better time, say go from one place and ride into the usual meetup time/ place and twy not to be late... Should be reasonable approach, or set up a 2nd Rendevous point. Sounds diffiuclt for some, easy for others. Flexibility may be reasonable. DGA where you not being civil with the escallation ?Dear palz Let's all be nice to each other, we have enough enemas out there without fking with each other. pv2 your friend and mine!
