Enough of the chit chat. Down to business. Is the ride on for today or what?

I am not going to make the ride this evening.

It is not raining in Portland now, and the roads are slowly drying. But, up in the West Hills it may still be wet and rainy. Weather.com claims that the rain is going to diminish throughout the afternoon and evening. High is only about 50 degrees.

well my bike is back together and ready to go....hopefully next Wed will be nice and ill be in on the ride. I get off at 5:30 in NW portland only takes me about 10 minutes to get to the top of sylvan hill from there. Cmon you shitty weather turn dammit turn!!

Everyone forget it was Standing Ride Wednesday? Well, everyone except me, Lena and Spacero. A bit chilly, but Logie Trail and McNamee were ours for the taking. Sweet!

I had to meet a friend at 6, for a bit, otherwise I would have been there. McNamee was amazingly gravel free on Tuesday; it's a shame that it's raining again today, making yesterday a great day for a ride.

Don't worry, I'm full of good excuses! I took my leathers in to Miriam, my fork seals are leaking on my 250, and I don't ride the 6 in sub 65 degree weather.

^^^Damn, that supermoto would be soooo nice on Logie Trail and McNamee. Light weight, long suspension, tractable power, and grippy tires. I'd wear grooves in those roads if I had your bike.

That should pretty much answer that question for ya. Your the only ones that like those gravel trap roads

I believe Mark has already put a groove in McNamee.

I think Mark has put hard-parts grooves in most Oregon roads by now. It's his signature, like those little airplane silhouettes added to the cowling of fighter planes to indicate dogfight kills.

As for McNamee/Logie Trail: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

I have to agree with Logan, you guys are still crazy to like Logie Trail and McNamee

though I suppose if I tried McNamee going uphill I might have better luck. I still get scared going around a corner downhill (even after 11k miles), but I've got the uphill corners down pat

McNamee is way better downhill and Logie Trail is better uphill. Not sure why, but that's what I've discovered.

I did McNamee at a slightly slower pace the other night and actually enjoyed it more. I tried not to use brakes much but rather to use pacing and line choice and the ride was slower but more enjoyable. One of the best roads to practice on around, in my opinion.

It will be nice to see you two (Kevin and Rob) out again this season.

To any new peep's reading this: be it known that Vaun (transported), Brian (polvo), Mark (mrfrank), and many of the others are not only very talented, but also very easy going and a real pleasure to ride with... if you have questions or concerns, just talk to them before the ride starts.

They are very helpful and have an immense amount of knowledge to pass on...

Please do not be intimidated.

Go to the ride, hook up with one of them, they will help ya out... honest.

Nope, on the way to Klickitat. I low sided the supermoto on McNamee though, but that thing was built to crash.

If there is no rain (or hail, snow, sleet), I plan on being there as close to 6 as possible. Don't have any new ideas for a route. Open to suggestions. Would probably like to weave McNamee and/or Newberry in there somewhere, just for the challenge.

I was coming home from work coming down skyline, i was on the black monster. Was going to stop in just to say hi but wasnt sure if that was the group meet up or not. I forgot it was Wednesday, i thought it was tuesday night meet up but now that i think of it its tuesday night coffee place. Oh well, next time ill stop by for a ride.

That was fun and cold! Harvey, the guy on the Magna, reminds me so much of Dean; the way he rides that thing, it's remarkable.

Harvey certainly was the sleeper on the ride. I had the pleasure of catching up to him and matching his pace. It was...exhilarating. What is it about those old guys on old bikes? I hope he finds a computer and checks in with us again.
