Is this the future of Walmart motorcycle parking?

Discussion in 'Motorcycle Talk' started by Vegasrider, Jul 26, 2015.

  1. Came across a designated area for motorcycle parking for the very first time at a Walmart in Sparks, Nevada, right outside of Reno. I was looking for the usual area to park right out front, near the handicapped parking like all Walmarts, but it was clearly marked with no parking on the pavement and to be honest, didn't have that much space.

In my opinion, the area provided should be closer, as it was difficult to spot. The only reason why I spotted it because I noticed the smaller stalls that were striped for the size of the bike while I looked for a place to park. Being that it's not that close, riders might be able to locate a regular stall that is much closer, but the designated are for the motorcycles ensures that your bike should be safe from other drivers inadvertently backing into the bikes.

  2. Like the idea of the posts, seems a lot less likely that someone would bump your bike trying to snag a parking spot, or back into it getting out. I'd really like to see more motorcycle parking around, it's very convenient when I do.

I usually just park right outside the door. :)

  5. As a teamster, I don't shop at Wally World.
But am loving the added spots in various locations around Portland/Vancouver, especially at PDX. Love the free parking there!

  6. That's nice of you. I try to park right inside the door, just to tick off their managers.....

  7. Would be nice if it was a covered parking area.

With a bikini bike wash in progress (free, of course)

  9. Before you ask for a bikini bike wash at Wal-Mart, check the people of Wal-Mart website to see what you'll probably have washing your bike.

Kinda gives you a chub, don't it?

  16. Kind of out-of-the-way for my tastes. I'd rather it be near the entrance so as to deter people with pickups from swinging by and shopping for their next used bike. Over there on the side of the building there's very little traffic, and very few witnesses.
