After a week of commuting, I report that the bike is awesome. Suspension is still a bit stiff but I think it's loosening up... everything is very balanced to the point that while riding, the bike itself seems to disappear from the equation altogether and leave just me and the road. Yes!

The only weak link is the stock tires. They have pretty poor wet grip and cold grip. CST Cheng Shin is a Taiwan company, they make the Maxxis line of tires. Well, I'm thinking about replacing them with the Michelin Pilot Street or Pirelli Diablo Rosso IIs, basically what's available here is limited compared to what we have in the States.

More to come. I'll try to put together a video soon, but snow and negative 18 degree weather is on the way so I'm not sure how much riding I'll be doing. :(

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Have you been challenged by any TW200s? ;)

  7. What is the weight? Very nicely appointed.

Haha, a TW200 would put up a fair fight :p

Claimed "curb weight" 308 lbs. I could probably lose around 10 lbs by swapping the exhaust... but that's an eventual thing. Right now I'm enjoying it completely stock :)

I thought so, no offence, I really want a TW. Cool bike!

  10. For a long time I've wanted a bike that's more powerful than a grom but has less of an appetite for tires than a 250. This looks like exactly what I've been waiting for!

Sharp bike! Honda knows how to make them.

  12. Huh??? My Ninja 250 went over 7500 miles on a new pair of tires before I sold it, and the tires still had a few miles left on them. You want more than that?

  13. Stock OEM tires are usually pretty crappy. You don't have to go for the greatest (most expensive) tire out there to see good results. Even a new set of decent tires will be a vast improvement.
That's why you see so many new bikes, particularly the small Ninjas, with road rash on them. New riders buy them, and they don't know the bike comes with lousy tires until it's too late.
