I'm going to bed ![]() Bike is ready.. I need a touch up paint pen in a bad way..Anyone know where to get one? (dealer or Colorrite right?) Last edited by sschering; 06-05-2012 at 07:01 AM.. |

All the gauges and everything appear to work. First impression is this aint no GS1000 I miss that big low end grunt ![]() It is much lighter and easier to throw around.. I just have to watch my gears.. I need to adjust the throttle cables.. It's a little sloppy. Slight hesitation when you whack the throttle. Runs good but could use a carb sync and tweak the pilot screws. Rear brake lever need to be adjusted down. I have a small coolant leak.. It's just a loose clamp but I need to pull a mid fairing to get at it. I need to re spring the bike in a bad way.. Lots sag I'm a big guy and I need big springs..Snapped some pics before stuffing it back in the garage. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by sschering; 06-05-2012 at 04:59 PM.. |

(I hope) It was just a loose lower rad clamp.. I'm getting good at pulling the fairings on and off On the plus side I now know the mids and lowers can be removed without taking the upper off.. Saves a ton of time. I still have a few things on my to-do list. |

No leaks from the radiator. I do have a small fork seal leak.. If I can find a seal-mate I'll give cleaning it out a shot. I think I'll dial in and sync the carbs tomorrow. |

Could be pads or maybe a warped rotor.. grabs and squeaks at the same time.. squeak squeak squeak squeak.. The other thing is when I got it up to 80 it got really twitchy.. I don't know if that is something up in the front end.. trail jacked up from dropping the forks for the clip ons or I'm just to fat for the current springs and the suspension is packing up. Any ideas? (Update) I just checked and the forks are pushed up 1.5" through the trees to get the clip on's mounted. I tried seeing if they can be flipped to below the top clamp but they don't fit that way. I guess I'll try to get some stock bars or see what else I can do. I took it to work yesterday and when I was out getting lunch this happened. ![]() Luckily I was right next to ACE hardware and stuck in 1st so I pulled in and picked up some zip ties to rig it for the ride back to work.. I could only up shift so I ran in 2nd gear back to the office.. On the way home I had to hit the highway so I took my chances in 3rd and lugging it off the line at stop lights abusing the clutch a bit. 7500 rpm on the highway wasn't so bad really. It's back home safe parts are ordered and I'm back to driving the cage this week. |
