| Training Wheels Joined: May 2010 From: Idaho | Just Arrived Hey folks. I'm Duncan Leonhardy and I'm in Moscow, ID. I've been re-riding for a couple of years now, but not to the degree that I would like. I had a VFR for a short time in the late 80's. Decided I was going to die and got rid of it. Enter life for the next some years and ta-da, here I am today able to afford and able to have better time to ride. I didn't ride well or for long back then and so I'm really a new rider (less a lot of testosterone and ego). It was either this or I get back into skydiving. I love skydiving - it's my litmus test for fun and excitement and I've done a good amount of it - but went the motorcycle route this time. I hope to try and get some riding with people in and meet some folks. Riding solo's okay, but I want to be able to get involved with this bike a whole lot more than I have. So, I'll be checking here and the PNW Facebook to keep my eyes open for rides and hopefully will be able to get in a good amount of ride time. |

| Licensed Joined: Aug 2007 From: Moscow, ID I Ride: slow on fast bikes, and slow on slow bikes. | Hey Duncan, Welcome back to biking. I took several years off from biking as well, and an 03 R6 was my "return to biking" ride (sold recently). Because of your interest in exciting things.....you owe it to yourself to take the bike to at least one track day. It's a fantastic playground, and you will learn a ton about your bike and how to improve your riding skills. I would highly recommend one of the Sullivan schools for your first time out. It's more expensive, but you get an instructor and lots of feedback. You can also rent a track suit so you don't have to buy one before deciding if you want to do track days or not. I'm sure there will be several opportunities for group rides this summer/fall. Keep a lookout on the forum, or post when you'll be heading out for a ride and see who comes along. -Dan |

| Training Wheels Joined: May 2010 From: Idaho | Yea, I had been planning on the May 27 Sullivan Level I school since February. But, go figure: car broke, kid's traveling, plumbing went to Hell in a bucket. No can play this month. Maybe in the July session in Spokane or one of the Inland Speed's track days. Fingers crossed, calendar marked. |

| Endorsed Joined: May 2010 From: Edmonds, WA I Ride: 1995 Honda Shadow | Hey, my name is Nik and I graduated from WSU in Dec 2009. I started working on my mothers 1976 Honda 360CB a few years ago until a few complications arouse...mainly galling. Anyway, my dad got me a 2004 Honda Rebel 250cc for my 21st birthday which was great to start riding on and then about 6months ago I bought a 95 Honda Shadow. I used to park my rebel near the animal science building while I was still in school, now it sits in the garage. I am still fairly new to riding and I currently lack friends to ride with. However i am always up for making new friends, especially ones that are into bikes. Last edited by bluerose; 06-04-2010 at 01:38 PM.. |

The weather has been really hit/miss this spring so we haven't had a lot of group rides yet. But they *will* happen. Very little is very formally planned. People just post at random a few days before they're planning to go for a ride and invite others along. So dust off your Shadow, watch the forecast, and post something up so we can get a ride going :o) -Dan |

| Endorsed Joined: May 2010 From: Edmonds, WA I Ride: 1995 Honda Shadow | I am kind of shy and I really don't have a lot of highway driving under my belt. However it sounds like it would be great fun to ride with other people who enjoy motorcycles. |

As for rides, a lot usually have a good variety of bikes, even ninja 250's. We establish a route, and the faster few always stop and wait for everyone pretty often. It works well. And i'm sure some people would be willing to do a slower ride here and there. |

If you can believe the forecast this far ahead...this weekend is supposed to be pretty nice. And what ever happened to bike nites? How are Wednesday's for everyone? -Dan |

I am brand new to riding and new to this site as well. In the past 2 weeks, I passed the Motorcycle Safety Course and bought a bike. My bike is a Yamaha V-Star Classic 650. So far it's been a good beginners bike for me. I would love to connect with some people who would be willing to ride slowly and carefully with me while I learn the ropes. Oh yeah, and I'm a student at the University of Idaho and I have some jobs. |
