I'm done!
Well about a week ago i put my bike down hard leaving my driveway. Cold tires and a little road debris took me out. The bike went skipping across grand ave and came to a skidding halt in the other lane trying to make friends with the guard rail. Clutch is busted and a few bolts are minus heads. Over all the bike is repairable but not rideable. So as i said i am done with riding until next spring i have to fix up my busted as r1. I had a great summer and i hope to make it to some bike nights this winter.

That's shitty man! Wait...didn't you just crash a few weeks ago?

also didn't see "too much throttle" on your list of causes....

We can rebuild her......better...faster.....stronger

Were you there? Didn't think so.

Your assumptions don't matter in this scenario.

for sure, but i wouldn't blame cold tires and "road debris" for me using too much throttle for the conditions.

sorry, it's a pet peeve, people not owning up to their own mistakes and blaming external factors that THEY failed to adjust for.

coming out of a drive way....bike skipped all the way across the road, there had to have been some speed there...

Winter? RIIIGHT! You guys just keep betting it will come, I'm betting on Al Gore, this place is gonna be smoking hot real soon like!

Man your incident does suck, but if I hadn't crashed so many times I would still be on the same damned bikes. Life has reasons for things like this.

Suck it up and ask for help, piecing it back together for a track bike!

I do wish I was closer, although I don't want to live there, but if I did, I would gladly help you.

I agree. I'm not bashing on the guy and feel bad that he crashed but your never going to learn from a situation if you can't own up to it.

I crashed once because of cold tires too. I also had a handful of throttle at the same time. I learned from my situation because I evaluated what I did wrong and figured out a way to prevent it in the future.

hahaha you guys crack me up. To much throttle? no. To much speed maybe. to much lean angle who knows. Bottom line I crashed.
I think it is funny how people will gripe and bitch about how i need to own up to what mistakes i made to crash. I have crashed so many times that i do not even stop to consider what i did wrong, because if i did everything right then i would not have crashed.

If you did stop and consider what you did wrong maybe you would not crash as much?

This is why I put my bike away when the leaves fall though. Too much debris and last year I was riding into November and almost put my bike down when i hit a patch of ice. Not worth it for me personally.

It's a lot easier to control 35hp rather than 100+ as well.

As the weather gets colder we are going to hear about more people hitting the ground. We should try and learn from other peoples misfortunes.
Bottom line ride safe and ride smart
