Congrats, Cougs! Started off weak but ended up with a dominating win! So many people stepped up when they had to but it was nice seeing Ivory Clark doing what he does best.

#4 in the nation and on their way to a perfect 12-0 in non-conference play. They'll break the school record for the best start ever with a win @ UW

You Gotta love the cougs!

Cougs are overrated at #4 but that's ok, they're a good team. Thank god the Huskies started playing in the 2nd half of the LSU game so we might actually have a game to watch when the cougs come instead of a drubbing.

the dawgs may try to make it interesting, but the best thing about that game will be the UW fans will get to see a #4 team school their A$$.

Vandals were sucking ass, but you know what? I was still going to all of their games to show my support.

Most of you know I'm right too, regardless of whether you will admit it.

I don't even bother cheering for the vandals, we aren't competitive in anything whatsoever.

Our team was okay in '05, but since Tony took over as head coach things have been great. I'm a Cougar through and through. It's just nice to have a sport that does well after so many years of disappointment. The WSU mens basketball team is legit and will be strong for the next years to come.

btw, where is your U of I Vandal thread? Pretty sure I haven't EVER seen on one here, but that's probably because you don't have anything to cheer about

You had me until here. Cougs lose way to much next season and Tony will be there two more years, then leave.

Don't be so confident. Unfortunately for you and all of you Husky fans, Coach Bennett will be here for a while. He loves Pullman, loves raising his family here and loves the atmosphere. He makes plenty of money and lives a very comfortable lifestyle. Oh yeah, and his recruiting skills are great. He picked out this team we have now, and I am confident he will continue to bring in quality individuals. All this equals WSU > UW

tough battle for the cougars yesterday. We lost to a team that beat us at our own game. We just kept driving the lane and missing easy shots. We'll rebound and beat them next time...and I'll be there to witness it.

I witnessed a great game this evening in Pullman. The Cougars knocked off the Ducks 69-60. It was a hard fought win, but they came through in the end. The Cougs never led the game until a few minutes into the second half, and never sustained a lead until the closing minute. No coach Bennett, Dick or Tony, had ever beaten Oregon until today. It was a satisfying win for us, and perhaps we will move up in the rankings after the #1 and #4 teams suffered losses on Saturday.

the game was incredible. I was there as well and it was the loudest environment I've ever experienced at Beasley Coliseum. Go Cougs!

I waited online from 10AM on for that game. Got dead centre seats, 4th row back front section in the ZZU crew. So worth it. It really made me proud that the crowd finally got into a game the way the crowds for UCLA and Gonzaga do.

I loved the end. It took us so long in the zzu section to get the other side of the stadium to stand up.

and our new foul yell. If the other player fouls

"awwwwwwwwwwwww yoooouuuuuuuuuu" (in solja boy style)

Horrible song but fun to do. and makes us unique

Wildcats hot from outside, find holes in No. 6 Cougars' defense

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Jerryd Bayless scored 23 points and Chase Budinger had 22, and Arizona used a barrage of 3-pointers to beat No. 6 Washington State 76-64 on Thursday night.

The Wildcats were 12-of-21 (57 percent) from beyond the arc, a season high for 3-pointers. Budinger hit four while Bayless and Nic Wise both had three.

The Wildcats (13-6, 3-3 Pac-10) handed Washington State its first double-digit loss since a 14-point defeat at Utah on Dec. 2, 2005.

Kyle Weaver and Aron Baynes scored 15 points each for the Cougars (16-2, 4-2). Leading scorer Derrick Low was 2-of-9 from the field and didn't have a basket until 2:38 remained.

After opening the season with 14 straight victories, the Cougars have lost two of four, with the other loss coming at No. 8 UCLA on Jan. 12.

In a reversal of their traditional roles, the Cougars came to the desert in a three-way tie for first in the conference while Arizona was mired in a three-way tie for sixth. The Wildcats won 38 straight games against Washington State between 1986 and 2005, but the Cougars have been the better team the last two seasons under coach Tony Bennett.

Washington State came in with the nation's top scoring defense, allowing 52.5 points per game. But Arizona shot 55 percent from the field. And when the Wildcats weren't knocking down shots, they feasted at the free throw line, going 20-of-23 (87 percent).

Midway through the second half, Arizona took command with a 10-2 run. After Jordan Hill blocked Weaver's shot into the seats, Wise hit a pull-up 3 to give the Wildcats a 47-38 lead.

They blew the game open with a 9-0 run that made it 68-50 with 6 minutes to go.

Arizona plays host to Washington on Saturday and Washington State visits No. 24 Arizona State.
