take those gloves, and I'll pick them up along with the fork oil I'm gonna need!

I'm headed to Mac's and to the Lewiston Library (they have the manual for the vfr) tomorrow

see you then!

I just drank a PBR.

I feel guilty saying it, but it isn't that bad. I bought it because I had never had it before, and Jim says it is the best.

Man, I'm wishing I'd dropped by to watch this. I just love it when somebody else does things like I do. It's soooo much funnier!

Hey, I just had a thought! Now thay you own two bikes you can ride AND get time with the spouse!! (it doesn't work that way in my house but it's worth a try!)

Seriously though, good luck with the fork seals. That's a job I've always farmed out.

I thought about it..but the price quote to get them done was a third what the bike cost....that just didn't make sense to me, and my dad said they weren't that bad...so....I'm doing it!

you wouldn't believe the things I tried to make them come apart....

then..a little more looking at the manual, and searching on the internet...."lemme check one more thing" BAM, there's another screw.

Ok, so I took one of those screws out, and trying to get the second one out, I broke (yes broke) the socket. I need another 1/4 in socket now... But a new socket and a few twists, and they should come apart....

I have a feeling it will go back together faster than it came apart (that's the hope anyway)

Anyway, so, I've got plans tomorrow until my wife gets mad at me....(or until 3, whichever comes first)...then, I'm headed out to Moose Creek to fail at shooting deer! yay!

Jim stopped by for a quick minute.

I'm waiting until about 9 before I head back out there. Should be a good day for it again....wish I was riding

I've got to get this done before the weather gets bad again and rains on all my parts...

That's funny, I just changed my forkseals last night. I also changed my oil and adjusted my valves...Now I'm set to ride all winter long. I think it took me and my friend 6 hours and a little over a case of beer (it got interesting the more we drank)

I should have started earlier....I was running out of light and patience (that damn screw on the bottom holds it together pretty well...)

I was making good progress until I got stuck...

now I'm stuck again....

waiting till Sears opens...

I've got the whole right side put back together (except the handle bar, and torquing 2 bolts...which requires going to sears)

The left side is all parts still....

but, it's going together much faster than it came apart (knowing what has to come in what order REALLY helps)

the second one should be about the same speed (more parts on the left)...but I should be ready to go hunting around 3.....not leaving until the bike is just 1 piece again or until 4, whichever comes first....

Heh, I learned after my first tear-down to organize what goes where and in what order. Takes a LONG time when you get "well, this one fits here, but it doesn't look like the rest" and 2 hours later you're in need of that one that fits but didn't look like the rest.

I've got no problems with that, I just throw everything in one spot and call it "organized" because it isn't rolling around on the ground

1 socket? Why are you not buying sets and saveing time?
You gota love the lifetime warranties on Craftsman tools!

4 years ago I bought a sweet set up with everything. Over the years I have added a torque bar (sometimes I just don’t weigh enough or have enough muscle), wire cutters, extensions, really small sockets & wrenches, an oil filter wrench, and maybe a few other things.
The toolbox still has room for anything thing I might need down the road.
