The "Man Cave"
Some of you keep hearing about this mysterious place I'm using to practice the dark arts of motorcycle maintnence.
On the way home from bike night tonight I stopped by my storage unit (a/k/a "The Man Cave") and took a few photos:

10'x10' of man-space!

CB350F asleep for the winter:

CBR on the lift and workbenches:

I hung a light and made a loft for storage:

*ahem* Um...safety first? Yeah...

Start the generator, fire up the light and heater, close the door and get some work done!

That looks like a lot of man space for one little heater. Nice set up though. As for the 350... why isn't it on a kick stand?

The ceramic heater works pretty well for its size. Above 30 degrees it will warm it up to sweater weather in about 1/2 an hour. Below that it will keep the nip out of the air but a coat is needed. It works best if you stand in front of it to warm up when you get cold!
The CB is on a kickstand. Just really close to the wall. I haven't finished winterizing it so it isn't off the tires yet.

Nope...outside around the corner with a flat extension cord going under the door...but it would warm it up faster if I did!

So, is it still a Man Cave if a woman has been in its presence? Or has it been tainted?

I hear they have conjugal visits in those "man caves"

Only forseeable problem -- Does the storage unit have shitters?

Whats the max load on the Harbor Frieght lift?

I would take pictures of my Man Palace but it's filled with so much crap, you would hardly be able to see the three moto's hiding in it. Nice Cave, Robin.

I was there before it became a "cave". I haven’t seen it since all the bikes moved in.
(It's too cold for me to play outside.)

All man-caves should have a woman either present or on-call to take care of any...needs. You know, like a lunch/gas/beer-run...that sort of thing.

No poopers, but the Hilltop restaurant and hotel are only two blocks away...short drive should you feel the urge.
The lift is good up to about 1200 lbs...rated at 1500, but why push it? It would probably handle just about anything I threw at it up to a 'wing or Valkyrie!

Just a little more than $40/mo. for a 1 year contract. I should have taken them up on an 18mo. contract on a 10x20 for about $55/mo. If one comes open I may have to move! Everything is non-permanently mounted, so it would probably take about an hour total to change locations...less with a little help!

Might duplicate this action if I move to a residence that has no garage this summer. Still in the air

at 40/month plus rent at a place with no garage would be cheaper than my current rent.

Only sucky part is I keep having to go dig it out after every snow. They plow the driveway, but it piles up next to the door and if it melts it freezes it down. Grr.

Not that I want to be hanging out there when the temps are hovering around 10 degrees! Those heaters only work so well...

I have plenty of room in my garage. You could store your Buell in it this summer. Only requirement is you keep the keys in it.

Yeah, well...he's invited to share the space if he's also bringing some beer and/or willing to help with the "projects". Projects does not apply exclusively to my bikes, BTW. I'll let other bikes in if the need arises. God knows Sherry, your tire change would have been a snap on my lift!
