| Retired | it's one of the best lolcatz yet I got Janel to come out Friday and she was like "oh my god" and said that the owner was aware that it was a bad roof job anyway but being this time of year, they can't do much of anything (so they say). I talked to the neighbor today because he also is being affected by the leak and when they had someone look at it when he complained, they found they can't access where the leak is coming from (completely sealed off) and when the weather gets better, they're going to have to tear the paneling down and do a lot of work, hence, they need better weather to do it. I'm going to call Wheatland tomorrow and ask if I can pull up some of the carpet so it quits soaking up all the water. I can now smell the musty stinky shoe smell throughout the ENTIRE place and the water is halfway across the bedroom floor. They're going to have to replace it anyway, would make sense for me to pull it up to try and dry it than have it sit there. They're lucky zyrtec just became OTC or I'd be looking into breaking the lease due to my lack of tolerance for mold. |

| Retired | nah...it's here. i've shut the door to the bedroom and any time you open it you're overwhelmed by molding carpet... what's his name said you were looking for a roomie...i might waddle over there and steal it until the end of the semester, depending on what they determine what to do with the situation (imo, it's close to uninhabitable). at least they're working on it, but for some reason the owner of the building seems to think a dehumidifier is going to dry the carpet out... ![]() |

I pay $900 a month, the 2nd bedroom doesn't have a single thing in it, and I'm here like 4 or 5 days a week... somethings wrong with that. If I do, I'll let you know first! |

| Retired | In the event anyone cared...I came home to this today. While the leak isn't fixed, they at least tore out the moldy carpet, drywall, insulation, and my neighbor's toilet. The crew that was here was just a biohazard group to tear everything up. That's a massive dehumidifier on the left chuggin away suckin my watts for who knows how long. What you can't see thanks to poor lighting is that the beam in the corner is quite black. Joy. |

| Endorsed Joined: Aug 2007 From: Spokane/Moscow I Ride: ZX-6R | Plummy.... do you know who took my bathroom? WTF happened?! There are fans and dehumidifiers everywhere, I can't hear myself think. I woke up Thursday morning to water dripping out of one of the recessed lights and onto my wine rack. Turns out all 5 of our places are leaking. I called Thursday afternoon and left a message. They said an insurance adj was coming out in the morning and when I came home for lunch, there was no insurance adjuster... or bathroom... or carpet... |

| Retired | Yeah, everyone's unit is being torn out because we all have the same leak. Mine was just first and I think the worst of the bunch. There was a design flaw with how the units come together (flat rather than angled) and water has just been sitting there. I don't know what else is going on, though. I've got the big ass humidifier up there, next door he's got a blower and I think he said his living area was torn out as well. No one knows what's next. I'm surprised no one's called anyone to let them know what is going on beyond that phone call that an insurance adjuster would be out yesterday morning. I pulled up while the workers were trying to get into your unit. Or 108. They were a bit confused at the time which one was which. The story I got from (Keith? god I suck with names) is that the owner of the building was waiting for it to get bad enough that he could claim in on his insurance rather than fix the problem himself. The guys that built the place are in jail so he can't get any money out of them. I'm just glad the smell is gone. Last edited by Plummy; 02-09-2008 at 10:39 AM.. |

| Retired | I'm going to wait a big longer to see what happens Monday. My dad asked me if the guys were back today and I told him that they were just a cleanup crew, not repair. Luckily it looks like it's drying out a bit (at least for me). My dad was talking about withholding rent and I told him the last thing I need right now is a 3-day eviction notice on my door for not paying rent. I should go bug Lee and see what his place looks like. But I'm between naps at the moment...getting up seems like so much work. ![]() |

| Endorsed Joined: Aug 2007 From: Spokane/Moscow I Ride: ZX-6R | Well I called today and the property management said the power bills would PROBABLY be taken care of either by insurance or by the owner... not holding my breath. They have no idea when the work will start to rebuild, they're "waiting to hear from the insurance company." Apparently the bio crew was back because the dehumidifier and blower from upstairs are downstairs with the other blower now and they draw so much freakin power I tripped the breaker when I walked in the door and turned on the 32" florescent light to my fish tank. A phone call would have been nice if they were coming into my house. Shit, a phone call would have been nice when I came home to find my freakin house ripped apart. Some news coverage sounds awesome to me... just to put some pressure on them. |
