Insane roadtrip, needs insane riders...will you join?
Chances are slim to...none, that anyone will take me up on the offer. But seeing as I am the only PNW rider in Alaska at the moment(that I know of) I figured I would ask. I am riding down to Lake Tahoe During the month of Aug from Anchorage. I will probably be rolling through town on the 7th or 8th and am inviting anyone with time and balls of steel to make the rest of/part of the journey with me. Some of you know me some don't, but regardless it will be a trip of a lifetime and I am in contact with CycleWorld and Motorcyclist to try to get published upon returning to AK. It is going to be a 8,000-10,000 mile month for me. Seeing as I am retired and don't have shit else to do. My only regret is that I can't take 2 months off and go to MotoGP again this year. I guess my brothers wedding in Tahoe is more important. When I get in town I will probably commence to getting shit faced at Zeppoz and trying to win some extra gas money at the casino, so if you see or smell me stop by and buy me a pitcher! PS: They don't sell 30 bombs of Busch light up here...WTF!!

Wow, that is an awesome and intimidating ride you have planned! Good luck and hope your bike is a comfortable ride! I can only imagine the sore butt you're gonna have at the end of each day!

Last time I checked mapquest, it was about 52 hrs Anchorage to Seattle. You riding that stretch? Or ferrying down? Sounds like an awesome trip. Will ride with ya for a stretch, if it works out. Only partly retired, and have grand kids part of the time. Early August I have to work Monday thru Friday, while my partner runs to OK.

Timing might be right....
Hey,

Four or five buddies and I are leaving Seattle on Aug 6 and heading out on our own 9 day road trip, tentatively ending up in/near Tahoe, looping back up to Seattle. 2 zx10's, an R1, a CBR1000, and a firebolt so far. No real itinerary, staying in motels. Yearly guys trip.

Took a similar run 2 years ago, I know some incredible roads, and always looking for more. Oregon/norcal coast, redwoods, Highway 36 is a must ride for every biker. Crater lake is a cool offshoot, Mt Lassen, Mt St. Helens, etc., etc.,....

Scheduling sounds almost right for a potential meet/run.

Below is the link to my blog posts of the trip I took from Seattle to Tahoe and back on the Valkyrie.....( Huge, lots of pics - dialers beware )

You should post up a rough guide of the trip like on google map or something, that way it would be easier to decide where to join up for part of the trip and where to turn around

Very cool trip! If the magazines don't pick up the trip for publication, then you can always ride your DR-Z...I'm sure that would get you in to the Book of World Records at least.

I am leaving early morning of Aug 3rd. The plan for now is to head over toward Edmonton, AB. I will be starting out on Hwy 1 then it turns into 97 in BC then either onto 43 into Edmonton. (or continue on 97 toward Prince George all depends on road construction/conditions. If I take 97 I will be on it until it hits the 5 in Cali then over on 89 to 44 heading toward Reno) Going through Edmonton I would then go down into ID on 95 through Pulman/Moscow then Hwy 95 to 80 into Reno. I am going to be putting in 500-600 mile days (gotta give the magazine's something to publish!) I will be ending my 4th or 5th day in WA, somewhere. Probably not Seattle because I want to stay off of I-5. I will be in or around Pullman or Wenatchee, depending on the route.
