anyone ride the wawaiwai grade?
I've driven it a few times to get to the snake, sidecar'd it once. Seems like a good road. Anyone ride it often? I might go check it out today.

Occasional gravel, open range cattle, lots of hard-shelled bugs that feel like BB pellets when they hit, and locals in slow moving pickups...other than that, its fine. Not someplace I would like to go down though...cell service is on the lesser side of "spotty".

use to on my 250 it was a blast if you went in the evening when there were not as many people on the road. Went to go try it on my R1 and it had been freshely graveled and oiled that was in mid july. If you have nothing beter to do, and you dont want to ride to spiral i would say do it, but let us know cuse im sure some people would like to tag along.

Yep, thats where she'll be for most the year minus winter. The motorcycle parking actually filled up today, I was impressed. Then this silly rebel 250 decided to almost park us all in.

Anyways I went for a lil jaunt but didn't hit up the wawawai

Yeah, which is sad, its a nice road! The river is pretty sweet though. A friend has a big floaty island, they put it out, throw down an anchor and a few beers. Its a good time minus the driving back part and the no cell service. They really need to put a pay phone at the cliff diving area at least. I'm sure someone will or has hurt themselves there.

Yep, they have many times over. Natural selection. Adding a phone line would be against natures plan.
