I know it's late, but it looks like I am going, and will have the scooter with me. We're going to take the "back roads" down from Moscow and stay off the highway as much as possible. We'll see you all there-

I have a friend that is going to come. He is a fairly new rider but will be able to keep up. He did spiral and rattlesnake with me at the end of last season.

Fun ride with some pretty cool people! I think around 22 bikes were involved so it was a good turnout for their first year putting on this event.

Sorry I couldn't make it guys. The ride back from oaksdale was wild pouring rain last night, then I went out. Woke up this morning and was simply too tired to do a spirited 80mile ride, just not worth it.

Well, you also missed out on the awesome spectacle of an older gentleman sporting an orange helmet-hawk.

Very fun to see the whole gang of blue SV's show up. I would have liked to have joined you in the fast group...but as it was, the scooter was *not* the slowest bike in the 3rd group. (That honor went to a Star, and one very timid rider).

On the plus side, after the ride Kari and I went back to Mac's Cycles and checked out some of the BMW dual sports for her....leaning towards the new F650GS twin. Who should I talk to about getting a deal on a bike down there? Does Jim still work there?

I was drooling over that bike and the F800GS next to it on Saturday as well. And, yes, Jim still works there. He was there in the morning when I stopped by. There is some demo BMW bike there as well but I can't remember which.

K1300GT, 450x (and I think the 1200GS too) are the demos now.

They also had one of the G650's (single cylinder) on demo.

I'm also thinking that I could sell two of my bikes and get a F800GS to replace them both. I was really liking the one down there. I'm going to be in Eugene, OR in a little over a week, and their BMW dealer has demos of both the F650 and F800, so I plan to check them both out and see what I think.

You really can't go wrong with the F800GS, that is one solid solid bike, of course there were a few teething issues on it as a new bike but most if not all have been solved.

I've sat on that F650GS they have at macs. It's the factory lowered bike. If your wife is short that would be a great bike for her! Not cheap but she'd keep it forever and would be able to go cross country on it no problem (well, maybe with a new cushy seat)

Check out www.f800riders.org for all the info you could ever want about them.
