Videos and Race Report - #39 WMRRA Rd 5
Saturday:
750 Supersport - There was a massive thunder/hail storm on a direct course to The Ridge, so this race was delayed in hopes that the marble-sized hail would blow over. As it turns out, the storm mostly dissipated before hitting the track, but it did dump enough rain to make 750SS a wet but drying race. I went out on Pirelli DOTs, but the track was still wet so I pulled in.

3rd in Open Supersport - I had a great start, and held 2nd for 6 laps when the #1 plate holder in Utah blew by me on his 1000! The crazy part was, this guy had ZERO practice at The Ridge. He followed me for the first 6 laps, trying to learn the lines before passing me on the straight. I had a better pace in the back section, but couldn't find a way around him.

3rd in 750 Superbike - Fun race! I had a great start, and slotted into 3rd behind Chromie and Dibrino. Eventually got passed by Jeff Seehorn and Allister MacKinnon, but Dibrino crashed out (after setting a new track record), and Allister had a mechanical. So I was in 3rd with half the race to go, with Kevin Klemmer and Doug Hillius breathing down my neck. My tires were shot, so I was squaring up the corners and trying to rely on sheer Fuzimoto-power to keep them behind me. It worked!

750SB:

4th in Open Superbike - In the previous race, I had a little trouble finishing corners, and my tires were starting to go, so I brought the bike over to Barry @ KFG for some grip. We added some rear ride height, and spooned on some new Pirellis. It made all the difference. I got another good start, but couldn't get in front of the 1000s before turn 1. I kept the leaders in sight the entire race, and even matched their laptimes - me on my 750, all 3 of them on 1000s. They would yard me on the straight, and I'd almost catch them on the back section - just not close enough to attempt a pass. It was rather uneventful, but I set my best laptimes and had a blast!

Thanks to KFG Racing for the suspension tuning, Pirelli tires for the grip, and Mike Castro for the Fuzimoto power!

I Ride: slow in the fast lane like everyone else...
only reason i came to the site today was to read a race report or two. was hoping for or two but this one works fine. excellent racing out there this weekend jared. there was lots of screaming going on every time you, doug & kevin came thru 16. can't beat the tight racing the ridge seems to be creating this year. good stuff!
