***imola wsbk spoiler***
Wow, did everyone decide to watch the Seahawks lose instead of watching WSBK?

Anyways, was scared I was going to miss it because Racing Underground was down. I did catch it on Speed.

I am so glad Haga is back. At least Spies didn't run away with these races. I can't believe how good the Aprilias did. Loved seeing wildcard rider Simoncelli stuff Biatchi in race 2! Those were two great races.

simoncelli is a fuck head. shouldnt have been doin that this late in the season. although in wrap up he said he didnt wanna pass but went in too late and figured his best action was to follow thru with it. still, makes me angry.

great races tho.

It's actually a wake up call to all others series. GP 250 riders are the best in the world. Then followed by AMA,WSBK and MotoGP are really about the same.

The Aprillia and Ducati really had what it took for that track.
Dont think it will stay that way. Thought Ben did a superb job just keeping them in sight!
How about wildman Rea!!! You go boy!! Well and turn too....,

this was an italian track. i believe italian riders made up about 80 percent of the front.. hmm wonder why??? i believe the point about 250 riders. the corner speed reallly sets them apart big time. and they know how to battle and be smooth. but if simoncelli makes you say 250s are the best in the world what did you say when spies came in to tracks hes never seen and smoked some ass? AMAs the best in the world? doubtful..simoncellis home track is imola btw... as is fabrizios.

Spies is the best superbike rider there has been since Rainey threw a leg over one. If putting that crap heap of a suzuki gp bike in the top ten is any indication he'll be on the box regularly in MotoGP next season on a Yamaha.
You want to know what I said about spies earlier just look at some of these threads in the racing section, and yes really AMA riders are and have been the best in the world since day one.

I can't even imagine what Simonchelli thought he was doing almost taking out Spies and Biaggi. But then...Simonchelli has kind of a history of making really stupid moves.
What was he even doing in that race again?

$$$$$ +home boy with off weekend.

Got no shot at repeating in the 250s.
He's kind of a goofy/funny guy.
Wonder what havoc he'll raise with the 250 pt. leaders next week end.

Still think Rea's gaff was the worst of the weekend.
Mere luck keep him from really wrecking Haga and possible gathering his teammate and possible Ben too.
The Honda was the only bike that looked like it could run with the V powered bikes. Oh, and Bens skill and corner speed.

This is a hell of a season. Bens still upbeat, his views;

simoncelli was riding for an injured Nakano. they had planned on doing it earlier, just didn't work out. he likely won't win the 250 champ so they gave him a go. did pretty good, outside of overcooking that one corner. He hasn't raced at Imola as GP or WSBk.

good rides Haga and Fabrizio. (and Shakey)

again, the standard firing I4's were down the grid. Rea sure tried though

Ben's only out 3 points, so he's still in a good position. (and happy Fabrizio took points for him LOL) Not bad for a rough weekend

Haga being @WSBK the last 10 years is really good, But I will vote for Spies to win only because the european thinks no one in the US is on par with any of their best riders. I think Spies is proving them all wrong so far. It is why everyone is suddenly stepping up their game, otherwise that loner american is just gonna keep smoke em. Yes there is 4 races left anything can happen.

Haga for the win
Simoncelli rode the wheels off that thing, made a few mistakes, but made Spies look bad. Next year Spies mid pack

I think Spies looked pretty damn good since he was effectively riding an R6 out there...

His team was struggling with electronics all weekend.
In his own words:
"Yea.... I just felt like I was on a 600 for 21 laps.... Jeeez"

I thought Simonchelli ROCKED! He isn't my favorite but DAMN. He rode a bike he doesn't even know and got a podium in his first weekend in WSBK. Also, he didn't almost take out anyone...it was just an agressive pass on a very slow corner. Biatchi almost took out Spies. You didn't hear me whining about Rea taking out Haga last race...because that was just racing. GO HAGA!!!!!!

Whats not to get? I don't like Spies, there for he sucks. Simple. Jonney Rea was with the front group crashed, was in last place then finished 7th, he almost won 2 races, impressive, All spies did was start 5th and end up in 5th.

Its all good for Simoncelli its his first show and a lot was expected of his performance but, having been to Italy myself no offense to any Italians. They all ride like wildman who cares about sidewalks. He ride same style as Fabrizio N Rossi anyway n direction to win. Biaggi's riding style is a little on the mellow side but, he still push Spies on the 1st Phillip Island Race. It is what it is. I still think Spies has a chance to win it all. I will still be happy if Haga wins it, after all 11 years of hard fought to win a championship is a long time. Its actually longer than Spies riding as a Pro racer.

Eh, Ducatis are overrated and this win will only serve to further cement that error in people's heads.

They are pretty nice, though... at least for a mass-produced, consumer motorcycle.

Last time I checked, it doesn't matter where you came from, its where you finish. So your saying crashing and 7th is better than a 5th and a 5th?

How can you say Spies sucks? He is racing on a new bike, new tracks and on track to maybe win or come in the top 3

Speaking of speechless, did you actually pay for that 999s or did someone give it to you? I heard Terblanche even finds it distasteful these days.

Bought it brand new, paid full price $25,000.00. Same with the 1098R $45,000 and yamaha R-1 $9,000.00 paid cash for each and every one.
I love it.

Why would you pay cash? Just so you can boast that you paid cash? Mine makes a much better return than the 5% I pay for toys.

WTF up with J. Rea. I swear that guy was going to take out some other riders and just got damn lucky he didn't.

Should have had his duel sports on.

Way to lay the hammer down Ducati!

Rooting for Spies, but won't be dissapointed with Haga.

What a great series.

none, just that the man is loaded and getting personal isn't gonna make Simoncelli, Spies or Haga any better then they already are I believe these riders are gifted with the skills they posses. His just expressing his opinion on the IMOLA race. Everyone is entitled with their own opinion. Lets just stay on the thread and just be kool about it.
