Stats for the Doctor; http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2009/Oct/091026i.htm He may be behind Ago in a couple of areas, but he has dominated the sport in a way totally unique, in the most competitive era of GP. He has faced many world champions. Ago had a few rivals, but Rossi has faced a metric ton of world champions. In my opinion, the modern motorcycle makes it tougher to shine. The technology has improved to the point that a given riders natural ability isn't able to make as much of a difference. Ago was typically on the dominant machine. The MV was THE bike and then the Yamaha. Rossi won on the Honda, then won on the turd Yamaha, then helped make the Yamaha the dominant motorcycle. |

The factory Ducati team put Guaresci, their test rider, in as a team manager to oversee Nicky and Casey. However Guaresci has a very good relationship with Guaresci and they've moved the previous manager (forget his name, might be Domenicali) to a different position as he and Rossi don't like each other much. It's all speculation for now, but it could be lining up to happen. It would be a huge boost for Ducati. The Italians would travel all over Europe in droves to support their bike and their rider. It would be an amazing sight to see. I'd definitely plan a trip to Misano to experience it too. |

Agostini= MV and Yamaha Lawson= Honda and Yamaha Am I missing anyone? |
