So Spies will ride as a wild card at the season ending Valencia round After winning the 2006 WSBK title Bayliss also made a wild-card appearance at that season's Valencia MotoGP round - and won the race for Ducati. Anybody have some predictions? I say top 5 |

Right? So why would he push it? My prediction is that Rossi will play it safe. He will finish somewhere top 5. I wouldn't be surprised (IF Spies gets a really good start) that he could be in front of Rossi at some point. But knowing Rossi, he may toy with him, show him a wheel like a cat batting at a mouse? Stoner will take first no doubt, he is on fire. I disagree with the above comment about Lorenzo. That guy wants to finish in front of Rossi... at all costs. Remember, in any race the first person you want to beat is your team mate, lol. So I give Lorenzo a 2nd or 3rd. Edwards will finish 5th-ish as usual. Pedrosa will be a 2nd or 3rd. The real question in my mind is what is going through Ben Spies mind. Last time he was a wild card in GP he finished 7th-ish I think. What will he want to do? Will he go out and hit it hard trying to "prove" something? Or will he take it kinda easy? I am guessing he will be a 4th at best, but no worse than 7th assuming he doesn't have a mechanical or get taken out. I am super curious about what his lap times will be like in practice. Will he continue to use the "Ben Spies Method"...? Valencia DOES look like a Rattle Snake all coiled up ready to strike! Yea, check it out, turns 7, 8 and 9 are the snakes head and turn 1, 2 , 3 make the rattler at the end of the tail. lol ![]() http://www.motogp.com/en/circuits/Co...alenciana/2009 Ben is from Texas. Rattle Snakes are from Texas too. Huh. Maybe he will surprise us all... Last edited by evil_dave; 10-28-2009 at 07:34 PM.. |

He just needed to finish 3rd to clinch it. So he let the crazy wild eyed spawning salmon fight through the first turn and then turn up the heat, mopping up pass after pass. ![]() |

dont forget he can still add to the podium/win records. (even tho he owns them already, he still has to prove it) | |

Total wins in all classes is probably the biggest record left that Rossi does NOT have, and he's publicly mentioned that as a goal, so this is the perfect opportunity for him to go for the win with no risk to his championship. |

| Newbie Joined: Oct 2009 From: Vancouver, WA | Rossi is a racer to his very core. If there is someone in front him, you can bet it will be a race. I think there will be less pressure on Spies during this coming race weekend than during his wild card rides with Suzuki as he doesn't have anything to prove. He's already got the contract with Tec 3. I think he'll be at the tail end of the lead pack, possibly 3rd at the end of the race. |

One thing Rossi does have is a very mature attitude towards the competition, (and 9 world championships of confidence) if he can't win, he doesn't over ride the bike and crash out very often. Spies has something to prove. Should be interesting. He is another mature rider that does not over ride the bike and crash very often, He has been tempered in the Mladin forge, so he handles pressure well, but this is a WHOLE NEW BALL GAME. He has to show up and do well to set the tone for his season next year. Moto GP is about as big as it gets... Like the Super Bowl every two weeks. Spies racing at least makes it nominally interesting. |
