Sammy Halbert from Kapowsin, WA crashed into a fallen bike during the final AMA Grand National Twins race in Pomona last weekend, then got up, remounted his machine, and fought his way back to finish 3rd! And like those old time heros from the movie "On Any Sunday", he did it with a broken leg!?! After the race he found out that the crash had broken his fibula. At only 5'4", pound for pound, Sammy is one of the toughest racers alive and surely a future champion. This year he finished 3rd in the AMA GN Twins and 4th in the GN Singles classes, which made him the (unrecognized) overall Grand National Champion by combining the points. http://www.cyclenews.com/articles/fl...ith-broken-leg |

I rebroke it within a couple hours on the snowboard. Called it quits early that day, got bitched out by my doctor and my mom. Good times... |
