I suppose, in the end, Dorna is in the business of satisfying customers, so if the races are getting boring and they're losing viewers, something's gotta change. I can understand that. If they do go to this change, which it looks likely they will, hopefully we'll get some more exciting racing. |

I'd gladly trade slightly slower tire development for close exciting racing. Or do you enjoy watching races where the tires are the deciding factor, not the rider or the bike? I sure as hell don't. Look at WSBK, everybody pissed and moaned when they went to a spec tire, but it's been proven to have been the right decision, WSBK has the best racing and brand parity of any series. |

Wait, what are we talking about? ![]() I think Spec tires would be good in the long run. It evens out the playing grounds a bit and makes it more on the development of bike & rider without throwing a 3rd factor into the equation. ![]() ![]()

Not another transition year of more changes at the expense of cutting edge technology. Let's deal with it, see how it shakes out and see if our expectations become shattered again. - my 2 sence Last edited by Buckwheat; 10-11-2007 at 10:23 PM.. Reason: Not to be confused with WSBK |

bikes are required to adhere to rules that somewhat equal the playing field, but technology is free reign. next it comes down to who's riding said bike, the biggest variable. i think equal value of rider is tire tech, which is a bike part, and should be spec'd. i realize my argument could be used in favor of better tire technology, but for a more exciting race tires out of the equation would be better.
