"We're all racing for second already," said Edwards

that's what I like to see.

Edwards is entertaining as hell. He was by far the best guy to listen to in The Doctor, The Tornado, and the Kentucky Kid, always does great interviews, has funny stuff to say...I hope one day somebody hires him to do racing commentary. At the moment, he's doing pretty damn well on that Tech3 Yami, though, which is great to see.

Yeah I liked is comment about when Melandri ran him off the track one time. "He must've forgotten I'm from Texas and we carry guns around, I would have shot him if I'd have had my gun." or some shit like that. But yeah, he's funny.

And even better, Stoners kicking ass.

So reading between the lines, it looks like once again Ducati has found an extra 50 hp over the rest of the field, and Stoner can ride on auto-pilot and the rest of the season will be boring as last season. Oh joy.

Was it just me or did it seem like Nicky forgot what it was like to ride a competitive bike? Glad to see him doing better...

Yes. Having the best rider on the best bike is perfectly acceptable. Having an ok rider on a bike that's way better than the rest merely inflates said riders' perceived speed which should be credited soley to the bike.

Rossi has proven he's fast on anything, even a known inferior bike.

Stoner only dominates when his bike dominates. If he doesn't have a 50 hp advantage over the field, he's an also-ran.

Which makes the Melandri situation even more curious? The Bridgestones don't seem to make a huge difference to Rossi, he's good on either brand. But something is definitely bothering Melandri, must be the Duc? I'd be very curious if Nicky would get on well with it? I think he would like having more power, but...?

I think Ducati is the logical next step for Nicky. Kawi is garbage. Suzuki can make good power but can't make a bike that handles, He needs to leave Honda yesterday, and Yamaha has a weaker engine (not to mention I can't see them wanting to replace their riders, with the exception of perhaps Tech3 Toseland who isn't doing badly for his first year in the bigs).

It would be nice if Suzuki could just get their game together enough to compete for podiums. They just never seem to get the bike sorted out.

It's just a hunch but Hayden does seem like the right kind of rider for Ducati. Where he doesn't care so much that it isn't a sweet handling bike. He'll just chuck it in sideways and ride the wave of HP out of the corner.
