"Entering the corners side by side!!"

"Side by side racing!!!"

"He passed close on the inside. Very close. So, Kevin... no bump, no paint exchange... no harm no foul, eh?"

Kevin: "Ehh.. okay.. pretty much" (I could detect the "whatever, dude" in his voice.)

That was Greg White.

He has raced, AND he used to call the pro races for Speed. WTF did CBS do, give him some lame ass teleprompter run by a bunch of choas in some NYC control room? Not that I thought he was any great talet on the NASPEEDCRAPCAR channel.

Whadddabunchadoofuses.

LOL. No sh*t. And all the effing commercial breaks. I was SURE they would break again during the last lap.

Also no news confrence after the race!?!? That is FUCKING LAME! Having the three competitors sitting next to each other sometimes stewing about an on-track incident (ala. Rossi vs. Biaggi). They interviewed Stoner in the pits and then Edwards? I guess Rossi and the Spanish kid were not even in the race?!?!? ARG.

Sheesh..

Uh, GW did a waaaay better job than the last guys CBS and FOX used. You can tell GW is trying, which is more than I can say about the rest of the american crew.

Yes, he's a far cry from the usual MotoGP commentators, but they're at least trying to improve (based on all our feedback, no doubt).

What I'm wondering is if they are feeding him that tripe. He was not THAT bad when he was on Speed. He at least knows something about bikes, I'm guessing.

It would have been nice if they interviewed more riders after the race, but with so many commercial breaks I guess they just didn't have time. But we all now know about Geico insurance and Honda's factory financing offers...

If it bums you out so much why don't you get a subscription from MotoGP.com and watch the races there? You can get all access from practce to qualifying to the races to all of thepost race interviews...

Hmm... I tried on the website but the videos don't wanna load. Do I have to register, because there was a link to watch the complete race and it looked like it was going to work but the load bar didn't move...

Maybe it doesn't like my Mac. I'll try dusting off the ol' PC and see if that makes a difference...

I think GW was trying to make sure Kevin got included on the commentary so he had to prompt him.

actually yes...yes he was that bad on speed...when he was in the booth though, not so much while down in the pits. It's odd, like the producers tell him to dumb it down or something when he's in the booth. When he's in the pits they let him bring back the intellect just enough to make it not sound nauseous. TV producers for motorsports events will use the "lets cater to the channel flippers" on occassion, which is very annoying.....instead of just catering to the audience that really wants to see the race they make commentators like GW dumb it down to pbs kids level.

hell you watch ama motocross and its not like that. superbike comes on...poof dumb mode.

The first couple AMA races they had some old fk'r down on the track that acted like he'd never stepped foot on a race track before. He'd ask the racers stupid ass questions and you could tell they all had this "fuck off" look on their face lol. That guy lasted a couple rounds then they took GW out of the booth and put him back down on the track which you could tell from the racers stand point was a relief. Mladin was the best with the first guy, he doesn't seem to tolerate much and indirectly called the Speedtv guy an idiot more than once lol. annoying yet entertaining.

That's exactly what I did. I don't even bother with the CBS broadcasts. Load 'er up high-res on motogp.com and I got bang-on the best commentators in Nick and Gavin.

I'm really glad CBS is broadcasting the races, but I really hope they stop trying to turn it into NASCAR and help people understand more about the sport and that it's okay to go an entire race without a vehicle exploding, flipping over, or someone throwing a helmet at someone else...
